Book Fair<br />
This festival of zines, books and comics<br />
is for zinesters, writers, publishers,<br />
artists, presses and activists with<br />
hundreds of books, zines, comics<br />
and other surprises for sale. Canzine<br />
programs include:<br />
• the fast-paced Zine Race featuring<br />
local comic artists<br />
• the 1-2 Punch Book Pitch where<br />
anybody can pitch their book idea<br />
to our panel of esteemed judges<br />
• reading and Q&A with authors Hal<br />
Niedzviecki and Jen Sookfong Lee.<br />
<strong>The</strong> Anarchist Book Fair workshops<br />
include grassroots political organizations,<br />
a dialogue on radical parenting,<br />
and zine and comic making for kids.<br />

In This Benevolent Experiment, Andrew<br />
Woolford analyzes the history of<br />
Indigenous boarding schools and the<br />
question of genocide in North America.<br />
He examines the various levels of the<br />
Canadian and U.S. boarding school<br />
systems, from government policy<br />
to day-to-day life at the schools. He<br />
also discusses the different pathways<br />
Canada and the U.S. have taken toward<br />
reconciliation.<br />
