Vehicle theft
is a problem
Vehicle theft is a continuing and financially
damaging problem for individuals and for
large as well as small businesses.
A stolen vehicle means business disruption,
dealing with insurance claims, increasing
premiums and stress in general.
In the past, cost and complexity have
prevented many vehicle owners from
considering installing tracking devices to
aid recovery in the event of a theft.
In many European countries,
statistics show that vehicle
recovery rates rise significantly
if they are fitted with tracking
devices.
Yet, in the UK, out of the almost
70,000 vehicles stolen in 2014,
only 1% had a tracker in it
therefore recovery rates remain
relatively low.
A small solution
with big impact
Vodafone Vehicle Defence is a compact,
easy to fit and cost-effective solution that
can overcome these barriers.
Powered by its own battery, with an active
life of up to two years, Vodafone Vehicle
Defence is small enough to be concealed even
on motor bikes, powerful enough to track
large industrial equipment, and cost effective,
which enables unit installation on every
fleet vehicle.
Vodafone Vehicle Defence is unique among
the commercially available tracking devices
with its dual location identifiers. The principal
locator is a GPS signal, but if this is lost for
any reason, the vehicle can be tracked by
Cell ID location, using the Vodafone GSM
network. If the vehicle is reported stolen, it can
be tracked and has a higher probability of
recovery. Should the GPS signal be lost, using
the Vodafone network, the vehicle’s position
can be pinpointed using GSM Cell ID location.
The development team behind Vodafone
Vehicle Defence has a 20 year heritage in
vehicle telematics, and this lightweight and
easily hidden tracking device benefits from
this accumulated knowledge and experience.
It is simple - Install, activate, recover
Vodafone Vehicle Defence is designed and
priced in a way to make it accessible in a simple
and affordable way to give added protection to
vehicle fleets.
The telematics unit is the size of a credit card,
with minimal depth, therefore it can be hidden
easily in many places within or on a vehicle.
It is also easily transferrable between vehicles
if necessary as owners have the ability to speak
directly with our professional and helpful
customer service team and inform them of the
new vehicle identity.
Once the device is fitted discreetly somewhere
on the vehicle and activated , Vodafone Vehicle
Defence can be set to wake automatically once
or twice a day.
If the vehicle is reported stolen, it can be tracked
and has a higher probability of recovery. Should the
GPS signal be lost, using the Vodafone network,
the vehicle’s position can be pinpointed using
GSM Cell ID network location.
The signal can be tracked throughout the
European Union and is recognised by police
authorities in 44 different countries.
