395. A late 19th century binocular microscope by
Swift and Sons
with rack and pinion focusing, plano-concave mirror,
circular stage with X and Y focusing, a selection of
eyepieces and canned objectives, contained within
a mahogany case with brass carrying handle. The
microscope has minimal wear to the brass although there
is some signs of use. The rack and pinion focusing well

and associated documents
relating to Charles Malcolm MacDonald, comprising an
Ordinary Apprentice’s Indenture dated 1888, a letter
dated 1892 stating that MacDonald served on the Cutty
Sark, a Certificate of Competency as Second Mate, and
his discharge papers, together with a photograph of
MacDonald, and a number of photographs of the ship and
a book ‘The Return of the Cutty Sark’ by C. Fox Smith

Cripps (Labour MP and Minister for Aircraft Production)
and George Carter (aircraft designer). Inscribed ‘First
Flight at Cranwell - 15th May 1941’ and ‘Prototype
jet-propelled aircraft C.A.C. Airframe. Whittle Engine’.
Together with a collection of assorted related aviation
ephemera including a photograph of the pilot Gerry Sayer,
Gloster Meteor Pilots Notes, aircraft tech logs, a Gloster
