Who is
Hybrid-Ag?
Hybrid-Ag was
established in Melbourne
in 2002 with the sole focus
of supplying the
agricultural market with
high quality prescription
blended soil and plant
nutrient solutions. At that
time a market was
emerging that was
demanding higher quality
and higher profitability at
lower prices. Through
careful analysis of the soil
and plants and applying
the relevant nutrients in a
buffered and balanced
manner, the results
required began to speak
for themselves.
As the name ‘Hybrid’
(combination) & ‘Ag'
(agriculture) suggests, the
best knowledge, products
and agricultural practice
available from all areas of
the industry were
extensively researched
and combined to develop
a very unique approach
that guarantees
‘Sustainable Solutions’ for
today and responsible
outcomes for the next
generation.
As demand for our
services rapidly grew, a
decision was made to
move the premises to
Wangaratta, North East
Victoria. Strategically
situated on the Hume
Highway our
manufacturing plant has
been meticulously set up
to produce the highest
quality product on time,
every time.
After being approached by
a world class golf course
in 2011 to recommend
and manufacturer a
unique custom fertiliser,
Hybrid-Ag recognised the
significant need in the turf
industry for a change in
soil amendments and
fertiliser practises. Now a
dedicated division of the
company, ‘Sustainable
Turf Solutions’ is
providing a new insight
into turf & soil health for
greens keepers, curators
and golf course
superintendents.
Hybrid-Ag has complete
control over the entire
supply chain, from
sourcing raw materials
through to manufacturing,
packaging and supply. We
also operate our own
heavy delivery vehicles,
ensuring the experience is
as smooth and
streamlined as possible.
‘To be truly sustainable, our turf grounds
must have a Balanced Soil, Healthy Grass
and Maximum Presentation!’
Our
Mission
‘To apply our experience and
focus in soil and plant
nutrition to help
Superintendents and Green
Keepers to achieve maximum
quality and presentation in a
manner that is
environmentally, socially and
economically profitable.’
‘And… to provide a superior
range of highly effective and
environmentally sustainable
soil and plant nutrient
programs.’
The Hybrid-Ag approach to
soil and turf nutrition –
developed over many years
and continually refined – is
based on the concept of
complete, balanced and
complexed nutrient delivery
along with the nurturing of
soil and plant biology.
True Soil
Health
Genuine soil health embraces
three areas; Physical,
Biological and Chemical. All
three are indisputably
interconnected. Changes in
any one of the three will
always affect the other two.
At Hybrid-Ag, all three areas
are given the due
consideration they deserve.
We recognise there are no
shortcuts in the attention
required to get the balance
correct in any area and
between all of the areas.
Utilising the concept of
complete, balanced and
complexed nutrient delivery
we have developed a uniquely
effective method of
addressing all areas of true
soil health.
‘Prescription Blended
Fertilising at its
Finest!’
Prescription
Blended
Fertilisers
Analyse
Without accurate analysis
it is impossible to provide
the best advice, or make
accurately guided
decisions. At Hybrid-Ag
we use an independent
soil and tissue testing
service which gives us
genuinely comprehensive
test data presented in a
format that is very easy to
read and understand. This
test includes a number of
parameters not included
in other tests. You cannot
make the best decisions
for your turf health
without having the best
soil and plant analysis.
If you already have recent
tests from another
laboratory, we can take
that data and process it in
our Audit program and
prepare an exact
recommendation.
Wherever possible we like
to have more
comprehensive data, as it
gives the necessary
detailed information which
makes the analysis
process far more
accurate.
Prescribe
The next step is to work
out what your soil actually
needs, based on the soil
test data. The Hybrid-Ag
recommendation page
helps in the process by
showing in Kg/Ha the
amount of each nutrient
that particular soil needs
to bring it into balance.
The critical advantage
here is that we are
supplying exactly the
nutrients that your soil
needs, but none of the
nutrients it does not need.
One of Hybrid-Ag’s
experienced consultants
can assist you in the
process of working out the
best mix of inputs to
exactly match your soil’s
needs, in accordance with
your budget
requirements.
Supply
Here there are numerous
options available.
Prescription Dusting
Fertiliser which is a
ground spread material
blended with Dusting
Sand for ease of use;
Granular Fertiliser in 25
Kg/Bulk Bag or Bulk
quantities in Leg Bins;
Slow and Quick Release
Mini Prill (1mm) Greens
and Tees materials or our
Liquid Products which are
Market Leaders in their
own right.
-Dry / Granule Blending
Hybrid-Ag blends the
exact mix of nutrients
worked out during the
prescription step. The
blend, either Dry or
Granular is then mixed
into a base of “Carbon and
Biology”, as this material
works like a big ‘sponge’,
holding the blended
nutrients and releasing
them slowly. The “Carbon
and Biology” also provide
a very significant input of
beneficial
microorganisms. This is
true fertilising – providing
all your soil needs in a
complete, balanced and
complexed nutrient
delivery system.
-Liquid Blending
Hybrid-Ag follows a very
similar process to the one
above with your liquids.
Instead of using Humates
as the Carbon source, a
range of Chelating agents,
Fish, Kelp and Fulvic and
Humic Acids are used.
This works to create a
truly synergistic liquid,
which ensures the most
efficient plant uptake
possible. 5

“Prescription blended fertilisers from
Hybrid-Ag are like a super-food
for my fescue greens.”
Phil Hill – Barnbougle GC

‘Apply only the
nutrients your
turfgrass needs.’
Hybrid-Ag has made an ‘art form’ of
formulating specific blends of nutrients
that have been accurately tailored from
soil test data to perfectly match
individual soil requirements, giving the
ultimate fertilising result. This is an
economical, no-compromise approach to
soil fertility.
‘Prescription blended fertilising equals
consistent results and continual soil
improvement. ’
8

Soil and
Leaf Testing
Hybrid Ag has an
arrangement, through
Spectrum Analytical Pty.
Ltd., with a major
certified independent
Australian soil
laboratory, giving our
clients access to
genuinely comprehensive
soil and tissue tests that
are set out in extremely
easy to read and
understand graph form.
The test includes a
number of parameters
that are simply not
included in other soil
tests. While some other
tests may include some
of the features, this one
‘pulls them all together’.
With fertilizers being
applied based on test
data, it is critical that the
data is accurate,
complete and correctly
interpreted.
Spectrum Analytical
provide, as part of the
program, a simple but
comprehensive summary
of the soil test data. This
is clear information that
anyone can easily read
and understand and
includes a list of all the
elements that are in
excess; those that are
deficient; a general
summary; a fertility
status guide, as well as
the amount of every
element, shown in kg/ha,
that needs to be applied
to that particular soil to
bring it into true balance.
This complete analysis
gives you the information
you need to make truly
informed decisions
regarding what inputs
your soil really needs to
achieve high fertility
status and to start to
deliver the results you
want and need.
Spectrum also includes a
unique soil solution test
as a separate analysis
from the main test. This
soil is saturated in water
and then the water is
extracted and tested for
nutrient lode. This is like
a ‘second soil test’ for
free as a check, and is
useful to analyse along
with the tissue test data
for nutrients easily
available to the plants.
‘An accurate and comprehensive
analysis is a vital investment.’
Humax-50
This unique material is the base product used in our
prescription blends.
Humax-50 is a concentrated, high-carbon, compost-type
material made using a custom mix of carefully selected high
carbon materials of varying densities, including brown coal
and paramagnetic materials, in an accurately controlled
activation process. Brown coal contains up to 40% humic
acid, a broad range of trace minerals and holds many times
its own weight in water.
Mixed into the product during the activation period is a
large inoculation of specifically selected microorganisms
along with a massive spectrum of microbe food sources.
This creates a chain reaction of microbial growth that is
sustained at ideal levels for many weeks. Unlike
conventional composts that include animal wastes, the
process never ‘overcooks’ at excessive temperatures
because of the stabilizing effect of the carbons and so
maintains the immense beneficial fungal and bacterial
populations.
Suggested Application Rates:

0.5 – 10 tons per Hectare.
Humax Fertiliser Blends
When used as the base of a Prescription Dry Blended
fertiliser, Humax-50 works like a big ’sponge’ with the
active carbons soaking up the nutrients that we have added
to exactly suit a soil we have tested. This process
dramatically alters the release patterns of the soluble
nutrients, mimicking the natural process of nutrient
delivery. This carbon bonding makes the added nutrients
far more efficient and reduces any issues associated with
losses due to leaching or volatilization.
Hybrid-Ag has the ability to blend custom fertiliser mixes
using NPK, Limes, Gypsum and all other required nutrients
with the Humax to provide the most effective fertiliser for
your soil. This gives Hybrid Ag the ability to use powdered
ingredients instead of traditional granular products
resulting in a much more efficient nutrient delivery system
to the plant.
One of the very special features of this mix is the way it
provides a natural home for the added and activated
microorganisms, allowing them to survive and thrive in the
soils they are applied to. One of the major challenges to
introducing microorganisms into depleted soils is that a
majority will not survive in the hostile environment they
have been put into. Humax-50 provides a virtual ‘bridge’
that gives the microorganisms a chance to adapt to their
new surroundings and begin to deliver their benefits to the
soil.
Agri-Vive®
Liquid Fertiliser for the Future
Agri-Vive is a premium quality, world-class, liquid fertiliser
range, using cutting edge technology to create a unique
fusion between high potency N:P:K liquids and a broad
spectrum of ‘active carbon’ organic ingredients. Hybrid-Ag
has created a very special, biologically buffered plant
nutrient liquid.
We begin with a base of ultra-concentrated, pH balanced
‘hot mix’ N:P:K liquids, manufactured in a controlled
reaction between pure, technical grade ingredients.
This pure base is then reacted with unique Heptonate
Chelators and Fulvic acids, a process which binds the pure
N:P:K liquids into complex carbohydrate chains.
This complexing totally alters the way the nutrients react,
making their uptake far more efficient as well as Ecofriendly.
A comprehensive range of trace elements completes the
package of a class-leading liquid nutrient blend. To this
very unique blend we then add liquid kelp, aloe vera, amino
acids, hydrolysed fish and polysaccharides. Individually,
these ingredients are very useful plant stimulants,
microorganism food sources or both. Combining significant
amounts of them together creates a SYNERGY – where all
the components together give a greater result than all of
them would give if applied individually.
Agri-Vive gives truly exceptional performance in the field.
The natural additives in the blend, when used as a foliar
spray, help to adhere the nutrient solution to the leaf,
allowing ample time for the nutrients to penetrate the leaf
and enter the plant’s nutrient transportation system.
Agri-Vive has been formulated for use in both fertigation
and foliar applications, with only the highest quality
ingredients used.
Available in a class-leading range of blends that gives you
the ability to tailor the product to specifically suit your
property.
Power N®
A Revolution in Nitrogen Application
Power N is a revolutionary Nitrogen delivery technology
that drives growth and increases the mineral density of
your crop.
New data on the efficiency of Nitrogen uptake is
revolutionizing fertilizer applications in Turf Management in
Australia. Typically, Australian Green Keepers have put
large amounts of Ammonium Nitrate on the ground to
obtain the growth responses required, with the focus being
on UNITS of N per 100 sqm. This approach pays very little
regard to how much Nitrogen is actually getting into the
plant. By changing this thought process and applying the
Nitrogen in a dramatically more efficient manner, Green
Keepers are able to significantly reduce the amount of
Nitrogen used to achieve the same results.
How is this possible? By adding the nitrogen in a specific
form as a foliar applied product.
The form of nitrogen found in Power N is extremely
efficient for the plant to convert to protein, thus saving it
valuable energy that the plant can then put towards
increased growth. Power N increases the mineral density of
the plant as the nitrogen process ‘powers’ the sugar
development in the plant.
Power N is also easy to use. It is a workable product
suitable for liquid injection, boom spray or even fertigation,
available in a range of pack sizes.
Nitro-Iron
Liquid Nitrogen plus Iron
The Role of Nitrogen
Nitro-Iron Dormancy
Liquid Nitrogen plus Iron with Exothermic Dye
The Role of Iron
Nitrogen is the major building block in protein and
chlorophyll. It is also essential for lipid and cytoplasm
formation. Highly mobile in the plant, it is translocated and
utilised in the growing tips. Nitrogen is vital to plant growth
but can be a limiting factor in uptake of other nutrients.
Nitrogen is often leached from the soil therefore regular
application in low doses will ensure efficient uptake
without excessive losses.
Plants need iron to produce chlorophyll and Iron is also
required to activate several enzymes, particularly those
involved in photosynthesis and respiration, and chlorophyll
production. 12 Iron Ions are required to complete
Photosynthesis, thus making it a vital part of plant
respiration.
The Role of Magnesium
Magnesium promotes winter hardiness and early growth. It
is essential for nitrogen metabolism and chlorophyll
synthesis, and helps the turf to utilise iron and phosphate.
Turf which is short of magnesium has yellowing drooping
leaves.
Magnesium interacts with both calcium and potassium so
should be kept in balance with those. Ideally the calcium to
Green-Tee®Nitro
Liquid Nitrogen
The Importance of Nitrogen
Nitrogen is one of the most important nutrients for crop
growth, second only to water.
Nitrogen is a component of chlorophyll which therefore
makes it essential for photosynthesis. It is also the basic
element of plant and animal proteins, including the genetic
material DNA and RNA, and is important in periods of rapid
plant growth.
Most of the nitrogen is used by the plant to produce
protein (in the form of enzymes) and nucleic acids.
The Role of Iron
Plants need iron to produce chlorophyll and Iron is also
required to activate several enzymes, particularly those
Opti-Trace®
High Tech Trace Element Delivery
Trace elements have become an acknowledged part of
comprehensive plant nutrition where ideal plant health is
sought after, and an enormous volume of research has
been done by many plant research scientists islolating
symptoms of trace element deficiencies and indexing
‘critical levels’ where symptoms may not be seen, but
quality and yield are affected anyway.
Opti-Trace uses a complex sugar alcohol delivery system
that has been adopted by Hybrid-Ag because of its unique
properties that deliver more of the applied trace element
to the plant in a form that is perfectly compatible to the
plant’s biological processes.
To these cutting-edge, chelated minerals we add liquid
kelp, amino acids, polysaccharides, hydrolysed fish and aloe
Green Up
Why Citric Acid?
Iron Chelated with Citric Acid
Green Up has been especially formulated to provide fast
greening to turf grass without the high growth flush from
high nitrogen inputs.
The 100% soluble iron in Green Up is immediately available
for both foliar and soil applications and stimulates a rich
green colour and strong root growth for areas of high traffic
and stress conditions.
Iron, nitrogen and sulfur are all essential elements for
photosynthesis whilst additional carbohydrates and fulvic
promote healthy biology and increase the uptake of other
nutrients.
Suggested Application Rates:

Foliar: 8 – 15 Litres per Hectare.
Watered in: 20-50 Litres per Hectare.
Citric acid is used as a powerful chelating agent and has a
pH value of around 1-2. When formulated in fertiliser
manufacturing this reduces the pH of the liquid which
enables fast absorption through the root system and is
especially beneficial in high pH or sandy soils.
Lockout®
Industry Leaders & Innovators
Biological Disease Control
There are a number of species of microorganisms that have
been identified as being effective in helping to control a
broad spectrum of diseases. Three that have been
researched in depth, and have been proven to assist in
combating disease are:

Trichoderma spp. eg T. harzianum
Streptomyces spp. eg S. lydicus
Bacillus spp. eg B. subtilis
These potentially beneficial microorganisms often produce
metabolites (natural chemicals) that assist plants to grow as
well as inhibiting the growth of other disease causing
microbes. These beneficial microorganisms live in close
association with plants root systems and produce
compounds that solubilise fertilisers as well as protecting
their own immediate environment (the rhizosphere) from
invasion by plant disease-causing organisms.
The addition of synergistic species to the soil works far
better than the addition of a single species and there needs
to be many of them to compete with the disease
population already present.
The colonisation of the rhizosphere of turf grass has proved
difficult because of: Low Organic Carbon Levels, Free
Draining Sands, High Levels of Daily Player & Machinery
Traffic and an Intensive Fertiliser and Fungicidal Disease
Management Program.
(See page 42 for drum label)
Hybrid Ag has been researching and developing biology and
its benefits to Plant and Soil health over 2 decades.
We have now developed a chemical-free product which
stimulates the rapid formation of beneficial microorganisms
in the rhizosphere of the plant.
This product, based upon World 1st proprietary technology
is now launched under the trade name Lockout®.
Lockout® contains multiple strains of biology and is
specifically produced for use on turfgrass using this new
technology.
Lockout® consists of a 2 part mix made up of:
Part A – Liquid Innoculum
Part B – Powdered Innoculum
Lockout® has been successfully used in combatting
numerous turf diseases including:

Power-Cal®
Complex Calcium
Power Cal is based on the world’s best and latest Calcium
Technology for plants. Essential plant micronutrients are
complexed in an organic sugar alcohol to create a highly
efficient foliar trace element fertiliser. The small molecular
size and delivery package containing humectants, spreading
and penetrant agents further ensures that the complexed
nutrients are phloem and xylem mobile.
Calcium Mobility in Plants
Calcium is a relatively immobile element in plants and this
causes some well-known disorders. Power-Cal is specifically
designed to provide calcium to plants more efficiently than
other forms of calcium. Power Cal sugar alcohol complexes
the Calcium ion enabling it to move into the plant via the
phloem, where the sugars move more easily towards the
growth forming locations. Once Power Cal Calcium reaches
the protein forming tissue the sugar bond breaks down and
the Calcium flows to where it is needed.
Power Cal Features
Builds tissue calcium levels improving disease
resistance and drought tolerance
Improves cell structure
Improves overall quality, weight and texture
Eliminates hidden Calcium deficiencies and hunger
signs
Contains 100% Soluble and plant available
nutrients utilising the Power-Cal delivery system.
Contains leaf penetrants and translocation aids to
enhance root and foliar uptake
Does NOT contain chlorides which can cause
serious leaf injury
Rapidly absorbed into the plant
Calcium aids in the formation and strength of cell walls and
is necessary for the development of plants. It is also
required for early root growth and strong new top growth.
Magi-Cal
Micronised Liquid Calcium
For rapid and efficient delivery of Liquid Calcium to the soil
in situations where it is not practical to use bulk lime, or if
calcium is required before bulk lime begins to get into the
soil/plant. The 0.08 micron fraction of Magi-Cal ensures
very rapid uptake by microbes and plants, and can
accelerate the re-balancing of problem soils.
Magi-Cal is not a replacement for bulk lime where a lot of
calcium is needed, but rather a 'fast food' type option,
giving the plant a boost of this essential nutrient, before
the bulk supply ‘kicks in’.
Suggested Application Rates:
Foliar: N/A
Watered in: 20 – 100 Litres per Hectare.
Why is Calcium so Important?

Calcium increases cell wall strength and thickness.
Calcium produces strong and structural rigidity by
forming cross-links within the pectin-polysaccharide
matrix.
Structural integrity is strongly affected by calcium
availability.
Calcium can also increase Nitrogen availability.
Calcium plays a major role in plant health. The stronger you
can make your plant, the easier it will be to ward off
disease pressures.
Magi-Cal also contains 8.0% Humic Acid - a high quality
liquid potassium humate derived from ancient plant
matter, rich in active humic and fulvic acids and minerals.
Liqui-Gyp
Micronised Black Liquid Gypsum
Regular use of gypsum is essential to the sustainability of
most irrigated soils. Irrigating land eventually leads to
sodicity and salinity unless extreme care is taken. Gypsum is
a key ingredient for the maintenance of turfgrass on many
types of soil and over a wide pH range, including sodicity
(excess sodium).
In addition to prevention and correction of sodicity, the
benefits of Liqui-Gyp include:
Micro Fine Mineral Suspensions
Micronised mineral suspensions are now firmly established
as a unique nutrient delivery method that opens up a whole
new set of options for delivering important minerals to
plants for rapid assimilation (uptake) through either
fertigation or ground spray. They provide high analysis,
easy to use liquid suspensions of the key nutrients; Calcium,
Phosphate, Magnesium, Sulfur and Zinc with an average
particle size of 5 micron (5/1000th of 1mm).

greater stability of soil organic matter
more stable soil aggregates
improved water penetration into soil
more rapid seed emergence
Ground-applied they provide useful microbe food and rapid
plant feeding without the leaching problems of soluble
fertilisers. They can even be foliar sprayed in some
situations.
Bio Sea® FKF
Nutrient Power From The Ocean!
There are a number of key reasons why extracts from the
ocean are such effective plant growth enhancers. One of
them is the incredible range of micro-nutrients they
naturally contain. This broad spectrum of minerals has
been eroded from parent rock over eons and washed into
the ocean, giving the plants and animals which live there
access to these 70 plus nutrients, many of which are no
longer present in our agricultural soils. Many of these
elements are only required in parts per billion, yet have
remarkable effects on plant health.
Another reason for the remarkable plant responses are the
naturally occurring vitamins, amino acids and hormones
which are present in these ocean extracts. These natural
extracts gently stimulate the plant, creating systemic
immune responses and assisting in boosting true plant
health. Fish and Kelp based liquids are an invaluable source
of nutrients to help with the re-mineralisation of our plants
and soils.
Suggested Application Rates:
(See page 45 for drum label)
Here again, The Real Power of FKF is SYNERGY. The fish
component in Bio-Sea FKF is a premium organic liquid
produced entirely from sustainably harvested deep sea fish,
mainly Hoki and Orange Roughy. These deep sea fish
contain the highest levels of natural nitrogen of any fish, as
well as having a broad spectrum trace element
composition.
The kelp component is the renowned Ascophyllum
Nodosum seaweed, harvested from carefully managed
underwater ‘forests’ in the cold, clean waters off the coast
of Norway.
Fulvic acid is included in this unique blend because of it’s
amazing versatility. Like an incredible microscopic liquid
sponge, fulvic acid has an enormous capacity to absorb
toxins and pollutants and assist in their breakdown.
Fulvix®
Liquid Fulvic Acid
Fulvic acid is one of the most versatile and productive
inputs in biological nutrition, providing a host of benefits
for both soil and plants. It is a powerful organic electrolyte
which can balance and energise all cells.
Fulvix is derived from the decomposition of organic matter.
It has a very complex molecule structure which has an
extremely high cation exchange capacity (CEC) of 1400. This
means that these organic acids can store a large quantity of
positively charged minerals on them (i.e., K+, Ca+, Mg+,
Mn+, etc).
Fulvix acts as chelating agent where the molecules can cling
to, and protect iron, zinc, copper and manganese from
being tied up in the soil.
Suggested Application Rates:

Foliar: N/A
Watered in: 5 - 10 Litres per Hectare.
The Many Benefits of Fulvix
Biological:
Enhances cell division and elongation. Root growth is
magnified with obvious benefits for root crops. Can detoxify
pollutants in the soil. Increases protein
metabolism.
Chemical:
Stabilises urea. Has a unique capacity to dissolve
minerals and trace elements, fast-tracking the plant
availability of rock minerals, rock phosphate & lime.
Buffers herbicides to avoid damage to plants.
Physical:
As a foliar spray it increases a plant’s oxygen uptake
capacity. Tends to delay the ageing process. Can
enhance photosynthesis during prolonged cloudy
periods. Natural chelating agent makes metallic
elements readily absorbable. Offers drought protection
due to improved moisture storage and because it can
build brix levels. High brix levels results in stronger,
healthier plants that are more able to resist drought,
disease & insects.
Bird Bane®
Natural Bird Deterrent
Birds and wildlife are naturally attracted to the vast variety
of native trees and shrubs that feature in most Australian
parks, gardens and golf courses. Areas that include water
features are especially prone to increased populations of
ducks and water birds, and to most they are a welcome
sight and help add to the outdoor experience. In fact, the
managers of many golf courses are active in promoting the
variety of native bird species that visit the area for feeding
and nesting, and in some cases are providing nesting boxes
to encourage the bird population.
Birds are welcome, however not in large numbers on the
fairways, greens and tees. The damage that a flock of
cockatoos, galahs or ducks etc. can make on the surface of
a green can be quite extensive.
Hybrid-Ag has developed a new product to combat these
problems without harmful effects on the environment.
Bird Bane is irritating to the trigeminal nerves of birds
which controls their taste, sight and smell. This makes
anything treated with Bird Bane extremely distasteful to
birds with the result that they avoid the area and in most
cases don’t come back for feeding as they now associate
that area as unpalatable to them. (This only affects birds in
this way and no other animals.)
By treating only the greens, tees & fairways the Green
Keeper can keep the birds off the problem areas while
allowing the birds to enjoy the surrounding vegetation.
Bird Bane is a proprietary blend of natural ingredients that
have been tested on a number of bird species with
dramatic reductions in activity on the treated area without
any harm or suffering to the birds themselves. The active
ingredient is a form of Methyl Anthranilate (MA) which is
an extract of Concord Grape Juice – a beverage that is
marketed as having amazing health benefits.
Did you know,
nearly all nutrients
in the soil are
acted on by
microorganisms to
make them plantavailable?
We all know plants need a
NPK fertiliser in the right
ratio to keep them healthy.
So is that all?
That would be the same as
bringing up your kids on
instant meals or meal
replacement shakes that
contain nothing but
powdered protein,
carbohydrates and fat, in the
correct ratio.
Will they grow strong and
healthy with a good immune
system?
Probably not!
People who eat a balanced,
wholesome diet with plenty
of fresh food and vegetables
are healthy. They don't need
extra protein shakes and
vitamin pills or supplements.
And they rarely need to see a
doctor.
Plants grown in rich,
balanced, healthy and living
soils are just the same. No
need to continually feed high
nitrogen and expensive
fertilizers all the time. No
need to always be losing the
battle on pests and diseases.
Plants have immune
systems, too. They are
actually quite good at
fighting those diseases and
pests themselves, provided
the plants are strong and
healthy.
Unfortunately, most of us
aren’t lucky enough to have
inherited the perfect soil for
growing turf. So while we
need to feed high energy
supplements to grow great
looking greens and fairways,
we also need to ensure we
are re-building a living,
healthy soil with lots of
organic matter and teeming
with beneficial
microorganisms.
CARBOHYDRATES
Sugar alcohol chelation
technology complexes
nutrients in a form that
mimics the plants own
natural transportation
system, increasing mobility
within the plant. Adding
sugars to nutrient
formulations provides the
plant with a carbohydrate
food source that enables and
stimulates the flow of
nutrient to the protein
forming tissues in the plant.
Sugar sources are also very
useful as a soil-applied food
source for microorganisms.
FULVIC ACID
Fulvic acid is amazingly
versatile. Like an incredible
microscopic liquid sponge, it
has an enormous capacity to
absorb toxins and pollutants
and assist in their
breakdown. Fulvic acids have
extremely small molecular
size and are highly mobile
within the plant, helping
plant metabolism and
regulating transpiration.
Fulvic has a pH of
approximately 4.5
FISH AND KELP
Liquid fish is an excellent
food source for soil
microbes which facilitates
nutrient release. It also
provides broad-spectrum
trace element fertilisation.
Kelp is an amazing
storehouse of over 60
naturally occurring major
and minor nutrients and
amino acids. It also contains
complexing alginates and
mannitols as well as the
plant growth promoting
cytokinins, gibberellins,
auxins and betains.
CHELATORS
The use of chelators
increases the stability of
individual nutrients while
decreasing natural loss or
‘locking-up’.
A chelate is an organic
compound composed of a
nutrient ion and
a chelating agent.
A chelating agent is a
substance that works like a
‘claw’, surrounding the
nutrient in an organic ring.
Hybrid-Ag uses both sugar
alcohol and Heptonate
sequestrating agents that
deliver the nutrients to the
plant in a form that is more
compatible with the plant’s
biological processes.
“We use FKF for the combination of
fish, seaweed and fulvic acid. The
benefits to both the health of turf grass
and soil biology are outstanding!”
