Wayne Farmer
(Doorzone Bikers
Warehouse Husqvarna)
(Proudly Bidvest Yamaha) who
dropped way back after being unable
to finish the two Botswana races.
He added the KB400 victory to his
two wins earlier this year and with
25 points for a victory up for grabs,
he is still in with a fighting chance
for the title 19 points behind Lobjoit.
He shares the points’ standings with
Calvin Wilthire (Droomers Yamaha)
who finished on the OR3 podium at
the last two races.
In the Master Class, the
runner-up, Pieter Holl (KTM) is
applying pressure on the leader,
Wayne Farmer (Doorzone Bikers
Warehouse Husqvarna) and posted
his third consecutive victory at
the KB400 event. Farmer finished
second and leads Holl, who could
not complete the second race of the
season, by 19 points and dare not
make a mistake if he wants to bag
his fifth SA National Championship
title. Justin Broughton (Sherco
Racing SA) kept his third place
despite not competing in the
Western Cape.
In the 125cc Class Challenge, the
scholar Ryan Pelser (KTM) kept his
lead after winning this class for the
second time, but the experienced
Izak Mans (Droomers Yamaha) will not
let the youngster have it all his own
way if he can help it. Eleven points
separate them and Mans, who won
the season opener, will not only aim
for another victory, but also for the
title. Janco Pienaar (KTM) finished
three races and is third after claiming
a podium result at each race.
In the Ladies Class, neither
the leader, Riki Mans (Droomers
Yamaha) nor runner-up Karen
Jansen van Vuren (KTM) could
finish the KB400 with Mans (Izak’s
wife) still leading the scholar by
four points. Both ladies will feel the
pressure at the final event and more
entrants in this class can complicate
this title battle even further.
Riaan Prinsloo (Yamaha) has won
the Silver Inter Provincial Challenge
but he can make it five out of six
wins at the final race.
Riki Mans (Droomers
Yamaha)
Leading Lady Class
Karen Jansen van Vuren
Dartagnan Lobjoit
