Elevated Video
The use of drones as a video platform has exploded over the last several years. Elevated drone footage,
frequently used in conjunction with ground based video, can quickly give a prospect a feel for the setting and
exterior of a property.
Using drone footage as a lead-in to interior video is a great way to catch the buyer's attention.
With the recent changes in FAA regulations drones can now be used commerially to improve the presentation of
your listings.
Video is everywhere these days with Youtube being one of the most viewed sites on the internet having over a
billion views per day. Anyone under 50 is probably spending a huge amount of time watching video and if you
aren’t providing it you are missing out on a big chunk of the market.
We try to keep our videos under 3 minutes. We think of them as trailers for a property.

Interior Video
Sellers and buyers are starting to expect video. They correctly think of it as a premium service.
Studies have shown that 85% of Buyers and Sellers prefer to work with an agent who does video marketing and
that listed properties which include video generate four times the number of inquiries.
As with video filmed with a drone interior video should ideally show the highlights of a property without trying to
show every room or finish. A video should attempt to relay the feeling of the property and tempt the potential
buyer into wanting to see more.
The quality of the video including color, stability, and areas of the house shown are all important to convey a
postive feel about a property.
We use gimbals, dollys, sliders, and other equipment to help stabilize our videos while using high quality cameras
and lenses.
Our background in real estate sales allows us to understand what a buyer would be most interested in seeing in a
video.

Elevated Photography
Helping to show the setting is a big reason we initially started doing elevated photography
Not every property needs to have elevated photographs taken, but a lot look better when pictures are taken from
the air.
Elevated photos are great for those properties which drop off on the view side, that you want to show the
landscaping along with the house, and when you want to show the whole property, or at least how the house is
set on the property.
Elevated photos are also a great way to demonstrate the view while showing the house.

Interior Photography
Interior photographs have long been the mainstay of real estate marketing. They continue to be important and to
see larger numbers of them is probably the number one buyer request.
Professional quality photographs have been shown to make a property more likely to sell and sell quicker.
Studies indicate properties with nicer photographs sell for more money on average.
Most buyers are looking at properties on the internet which is a visual medium. Great pictures are a must to catch
a buyer's eye.

Interactive Floor Plans
Floor plans are a tremendous additions to a marketing campaign. Buyers want to see the layout of the home, or
building. At least one study showed that buyers feel floor plans are more important than the main picture, or
summary description in a property listing.
Floor plans allow for quick understanding of a property. Perhaps a buyer needs a first floor master, an eat in
kitchen, or a nursery near the master. This information can be seen instantly with floor plans.
Floor plans can be used by themselves to promote a property. We can supply them to you as pdf, or jpg, files so
you can use them as attachments, listing pictures, or email them to buyers.
The next step up are interactive floor plans which is when pictures are added to the plans to allow buyers to see
where a particular picture was taken. After staring at MLS photographs wondering where a picture was taken,
and how it relates to other photographs, buyers appreciate being able to get a perspective they can understand.
Property Panoramas
Our definition of a property panorama is a high detail map of a property. This is accomplished by taking many
pictures and then combining them to increase the overall resolution. Depending on the resolution and size of
property this might include hundreds of pictures.
While on initial examination it might appear to be a map on Google Earth upon zooming in the resolution is much
more detailed.
The panorama also has the advantage of being current, unlike satellite images which might be several years old.
This can be a major advantage with construction or recently completed projects.
Progress Photos
Progress Photos can be simply photographs taken
from the ground at various times throughout
construction. This also applies to drone based
photographs, or video.
We take the concept one step further. By
programming a route into the drone, and saving it.
Postion and altitude of photographs can be exactly
duplicated over the course of construction. By using
the Panorama function described above we can
produce high resolution "maps" of the project
layered on top of each other to easily follow
progress.
HINT: If you click on the sample to the left, use the
layer icon in the top right of the opened page to add
and remove layers.

Twilight Pictures
Still photographs taken around sunset can impart a magical feel to a home. Well done twilight pictures can invoke
a feeling of home and make the viewer want to go inside.
Twilight pictures can make an ordinary house look extraordinary by hiding the mundane and sometimes
unattractive parts of the exterior.
Twilight pictures almost always involve a separate trip to the property since the light before, and after, a twilight
shoot is not good for any other imaging. Approximately an hour is needed for the preparation and taking of the
pictures.
Due to long exposure times a tripod is a necessity though we have had some success with twilight drone
photographs if needed.
Drone Based

Presentation Pages
After obtaining images, video, or interactive floor plans you have to be able to use them to promote the listed
property.
As part of our service we can provide unbranded or branded web pages containing the images. These web
pages can then be used as the virtual tour link in the MLS, emailed to clients, linked to from your website, etc.
About Over And Above
Photography
FAA Certified To Fly Commercially
Fully Insured
Over and Above Photography is a full service imaging company started by Jerry Smith and
Caroline Ballard in 2010.
Jerry and Caroline also owned and operated Red Door Real Estate for 12 years before deciding to
to pursue photography full time. That experience allows them to think like real estate agents when
viewing a property.
Starting with still photographs taken from a tethered blimp, Over and Above Photography has
expanded over the years by switching to multirotor copters and constantly upgrading the camera
equipment used. Along the way video capability and editing was added to meet the growing demand.
Expanding to include interior and ground level video and still photography was a natural extension
of the elevated photography and moved Over and Above towards being a full service provider.
Over the last couple of years the concentration has been on developing innovative ways to present
imaging products while improving the marketing capabilities of real estate agents. This exploration
has led to the offering of interactive floor plans, property mapping options, and presentation web
pages.
Jerry and Caroline live in Hyde Park Vermont where they work to support their adopted children
which consist of three cats, two guinea pigs, as well as six pygmy and dwarf goats. They enjoy
kayaking on the nearby waterways, hiking, snowshoeing and working in the woods.
Every Project is Unique
