MiSSioN<br />

The D’Youville School of <strong>Pharmacy</strong> is mission driven: It is<br />

dedicated to creating a continuously improving teaching<br />

and learning environment for faculty, staff and students<br />

and committed to educating tomorrow’s pharmacists<br />

to work collaboratively to identify, manage and resolve<br />

problems related to drug therapy. The School of<br />

<strong>Pharmacy</strong> is committed to the exploration and validation<br />

of ideas through research, critical inquiry and scholarly<br />

activity. We believe that tomorrow’s pharmacists must<br />

be committed to a lifetime of learning and service to their<br />

profession and communities and select only students<br />

and faculty who possess the intellectual ability and core<br />

values that contribute to our mission.<br />

FACiLiTiES<br />

On May 12, 2010, D’Youville <strong>College</strong> dedicated its newest<br />

building, the D’Youville Academic Center. A project<br />

that began in 2008, the $23 million, 90,000 squarefoot,<br />

6-story academic building houses enrollment<br />

management, a technology center and the new<br />

D’Youville <strong>College</strong> School of <strong>Pharmacy</strong>.<br />

The architectural firm Cannon Design, which recently<br />

completed work on a building for the University of<br />

Toronto School of <strong>Pharmacy</strong>, has designed a building<br />

that is both aesthetically pleasing, and responsive to the<br />

social and academic needs of both students and faculty.<br />

The D’Youville <strong>College</strong> School of <strong>Pharmacy</strong> is<br />

registered for professional purposes under Subchapter<br />

A of the Regulations of the Commissioner of Education<br />

(Chapter II of Title 8 of the Official Compilation of<br />

Codes, Rules and Regulations of the state of New<br />

York); enabling all eligible doctor of pharmacy students<br />

to receive financial aid.<br />

ACCREDiTATioN CoUNCiL FoR phARMACY<br />

EDUCATioN (ACpE)<br />

The D’Youville <strong>College</strong> School of <strong>Pharmacy</strong> was awarded<br />

candidate status from the Accreditation Council for<br />

<strong>Pharmacy</strong> Education (ACPE) at its June 22-24, 2011<br />

board of directors meeting. Graduates of a class<br />

designated as having candidate status have the same<br />

rights and privileges of those graduates from a fully<br />

accredited program, generally including eligibility for<br />
