Corten steel - a very
special steel.
Exposed to the weather, this material
begins to unfold its own life. Colors
change and create always new
images.
Corten steel is an alloyed steel, which
receives its corrosion resistant properties
by the addition of copper, chromium
and nickel. This alloy, a dense
barrier layer of adherent sulfates and
phosphates, which protects against
further corrosion develops.
Even with the moisture level 4 (very
long wet times) results in a useful life
of 100 years, a max. rusting of 1.7
mm.
The formation of the barrier layer
takes depending on weathering up to
3 years.
Powder coated - robust
and resistant.
Powder coating is the ideal surface
finishing of metal parts. By the
solvent-free powder coating is this a
particularly environmentally friendly.
Compared to the wet coating are ensured
by the high layer thickness and
the flexibility of the surface a high
degree of weathering, acid and color
stability and impact resistance.
For powder coating we use only
galvanized sheet steel, aluminum or
stainless steel.
