I recently had the opportunity to catch up with
two of my school friends and their partners in Noosa
for a few days. We have known each other since
before double digits and always manage to sneak in
a get together as often as our busy lives allow. The
last few years have included wedding trips full of
rushing around, both for our own and for mutual
friends, so this was the first time in a few years we
had the chance to just chill... beach time, late
lunches and shopping without a time schedule, and
it was so good for my soul to see these girls again.
I have come to the conclusion it wouldnt matter if I
didnt see them for 2 or 3 years our relationships
would still be the same, but I really have to make
seeing them more often a priority. Its important to
make time to catch up with those friends of ours who
we can be our craziest selves with, because they
are the ones who give us belly aching laughs and
we all know how good for us they are!
Even if you can only afford to plan one weekend
every 3 years, SET THE DATE, and make a plan.
Even just the thought of knowing you will see the
girls in the future could be enough to get you
through that next load of washing or those next few
hours of work. Some girls I know have some very
exciting trips planned but for me while my baby girl
is little I am playing it safe with planning a weekend
at home this summer! BBQ’s, walks to the lake,
lunch at the vineyards....

The body Box launched by accident really, we knew
we wanted to branch out into the ultimate mummy
boxes and underwear for men but beauty and body
products were not our main line of business. Over
the last few months however we have been emailing
every beauty and skincare supplier in New Zealand
to request free samples for our underwear boxes.
We have been met with the same response from
most people - “no freebies but here is our price list”.
I’ve never thought much about the wholesale price of the skincare and cosmetic products I buy but when
we saw the price list we knew we could provide great boxes for a reasonable rate and becaause we
already promote our website to busy working women, it should be easy to get the word out there! Plus this
product could actually suit our existing customers. We set to work getting samples and making up mock
boxes so we could see the type of goodies we could put together and we realised that the best items we
could include were the ones that offered the recipient the opportunity to slip away for 15 minutes a few
times throughout the month to try their new face scrub, or taste the new herbal tea blend. So with that in
mind we are stocking up on products that offer 15 minutes of relaxation and luxury to our members!! Enjoy

Meet Jess... the MyTreat Instagrammer. Jess and
Rosie have known each other since before school
and when Rosie and Johanna became friends
around the age of 11, Jess was introduced too. So
it’s a perfect fit for Jess to join the MyTreat family
and combined with her entertaining social posts, her
presence adds a breath of fresh air to the MyTreat
marketing team.
She has recently returned from 2 years in London,
travelling to all the best spots in Europe so she has
had plenty of practice taking a good picture. Jess is
also a proud plus sized woman, she is sharp,
confident and beautiful, and the perfect person to
help MyTreat make sure their plus sized products are
on point!
Jess, Can you please tell us why you think New
Zealand women would benefit from a MyTreat
subscription?
New Zealand is a small country and we can
sometimes be limited in our choices depending on
the styles and sizes the retailers in our communities
choose to offer. MyTreat engages with a range of
styles and sizes to offer more range and creativity
than a traditional retailer.
What do you like about the My

products you have tested out?
Lace is favourite feature for me. And variety of colour!
Are you a city or country girl?
I grew up in the country but fell in love with the big
cities. I love the collaborative vibe of a city.
There are people from every country and culture
which build’s vibrant neighbourhoods that offer
characteristics, activities and different foods
around every corner.
What do you think is the ideal instagram post?
I like posts from designers. Room decor ideas and
anything promoting body positivity.
Personal obbsession?
Nail polish. And nail art.
Make up
And any hair product that help me tackle dry or
frizzy hair!
What is your pet peeve about shopping for
underwear?
Lack of variety in larger Sizes. Lots of retailers still
stop at 18, also an 18 is not always consistent
across all shops so even though you many fit one
size in one place you may not fit it in another.

FINALLY
we
found
the
perfect
plus-size
supplier
So we launched our
MyTreat.co.nz site in
August and within a few
short months we have
received over 200 sign
ups from women around
New Zealand.
We are all about feedback
and openly ask for it
throughout the website,
one comment we kept
receiveing was ‘what
about bigger sizes...??’.
With the help of our
Facebook followers we
have tested the quality
and size of our new
plus size supplier and we
are all really happy to finally
have beautiful XL and XXL
boxes available to our
customers. We know its
important to cater to all
women and all sizes so the
hunt is on for even more
quality sources so we can
continue to offer cute
underwear for all sizes.
To start with we contacted
China but they have got no
idea about western larger
sizes and after recieving
stock marked XL that fitted
my size 10 sister, we knew
we had to search further
afield.
The end result was
contacting a department
store in the USA and
having the store manager
go and hand select the
plus size items for us.
Unfortunately he was
unable to send direct to
New Zealand so we got
them shipped to Australia
where my mother in-law
lives and I picked them up
last week when we went on
a fanily and friends
holiday to Noosa. But it is
worth all the effort
becausethe stock is
perfect... you will LOVE it!
