Berrington Parish Council Berrington Parish Council consists of nine elected or co-opted Parish Councillors: Claire Wild (Chair); Richard Purslow (Vice-Chair); Richard Ward; Sue Mason; Lezley Picton; Claire Bonsey; Mark Howarth, Eric Brayne and Steve Hawksworth. The Parish Council meets at 7.30pm on the 1st Thursday of every month (except August and sometimes December) at the Chapel Community Centre. News from your Shropshire Councillor - Councillor Claire Wild FLY TIPPING There has been an increase in fly tipping within our parishes. Shropshire Council will respond to any reports of fly tipping and remove it as soon as possible. If you come across any fly tipping please could you report it directly to Shropshire Council either by phone (0345 678 9006 ) or preferably by vising Shropshire Council’s website and completing the form under the fly tipping section. It would be helpful if once you have completed the form you could inform myself and/or the Parish Clerks know so that we can monitor the collection of the waste. By completing the form online this helps us keep an accurate record of fly tipping instances and hot spots. LAND OFF HOLCROFT WAY AND OPPOSITE VILLAGE SHOP I have been asked by many residents as to why the development hasn’t started yet. The reason for the delay is that Fletcher Homes have not yet discharged all the pre development conditions relating to their planning permission. It is now likely that the works will start in the spring of 2017. CHURCH LANE, BERRINGTON - ROAD CLOSURE The road between Berrington village and the A458 (past the church) will be closed in December for essential carriageway resurfacing work. The works are programmed to take place under a temporary road closure from 01/12/2016 to 06/12/2016, under restricted hours between 09:30 & 16:00. I should point out that this work is weather dependant. Hopefully the weather will be kind to us and the Highways Team can complete this necessary work as soon as possible. DOG FOULING Once again it has been reported that there is a significant amount of dog mess around our villages. If you do know who is not picking up after their dogs please get in contact with the Parish Clerks so that we can try to do something about this. If you have a dog and you do not pick up after it I implore you to do so. The Parish Councils spend a lot of money keeping the areas neat and tidy for everyone to enjoy life in our villages, please don’t let the minority ruin it for the majority.
