Kevin’s Comments
Well, after a defeat you have to look for positives to take into
the next game. Seven straight defeats tells its own story but
we’re not looking for excuses. Ten positional changes, eight
different personnel from last week, yet another back four
and we are playing a side that are pretty established and have
the same team nearly every week. So we have to look for any
positives. Firstly, the lads that came in did a job and put a
shift in, especially first half, and, apart from one killer pass,
should have gone in level at
half-time.
This week we started slowly
giving far too much time
to our opposition and to be
honest we looked disjointed
and off the pace, resembling
a side that had hardly trained
together. Fact was they
hadn’t.
We went behind after 15
minutes and you feared a
long afternoon. No dugouts,
a terrible surface and nothing
felt good about the day.
However, here’s a positive:
for the next 28 minutes the
lads rolled their sleeves up,
upped the tempo and moved
the ball quickly. We looked
like we actually wanted it and

We were awarded a penalty
after 30 minutes following
sustained pressure and
Tom dispatched it for a
well deserved equaliser. We
were actually on top and
went for it. However, on 44
minutes all our hard work
was wasted. We got so carried
away attacking, that one pass

We started the second half slow and looked tired, then went
further behind when some quick play opened us up and
we didn’t react or close down quick enough and the lad

Both Matt and Gavin missed
great opportunities to get us

When we do create chances
at key moments we don’t take
