Merlin Hyman<br />

Merlin leads Regen’s mission to transform how we generate, supply and use energy. Merlin is<br />
a passionate advocate of a smart, decentralised, low carbon energy system based on renewable<br />
energy. He is an influential figure in energy policy taking part in leading initiatives such as<br />
the global Energy Transitions Commission. Merlin writes and presents extensively, on Regen’s<br />
pioneering work. Merlin was previously director of the Environmental Industries Commission,<br />
where he worked in Whitehall and Westminster to ensure government support for British<br />
companies to succeed in the rapidly growing worldwide market for low-carbon products and<br />
services.<br />
Johnny Gowdy<br />

Johnny joined Regen in 2008, having previously been a partner in the energy practice of the<br />
global consultancy firm Accenture. He has a wide range of experience in both the conventional<br />
and sustainable energy sectors covering; oil and gas, renewable energy, offshore renewable<br />
energy, smart energy systems and energy storage. As well as leading Regen’s work<br />
in the marine and offshore wind sectors, he is currently developing Regen’s market insight<br />
and advisory services in the areas of energy systems, flexibility and energy storage. A PPE<br />
graduate of The Queen’s College Oxford University, Johnny is a regular conference speaker<br />
and chairperson, and has been a guest lecturer at a number of academic institutions.<br />
Carla Tully<br />

Carla brings global experience in strategy, growth, and finance to AES UK & Ireland.<br />
Under Carla’s leadership, her team is focused on building from the company’s strong<br />
foundation of traditional energy generation and bringing AES’ global expertise in new<br />
energy solutions, such as energy storage, to the UK & Ireland. She sits on the boards of CBI<br />
Northern Ireland and Business in the Community Northern Ireland and is the recipient<br />
of the Belfast Homecoming 2015 ‘Belfast Business Ambassador’ Award.<br />
Mark Kenber<br />

Mark joined Mongoose Energy Supply, after 12 years at international NGO, The Climate<br />
Group. With a background in development and environmental economics, Mark has worked<br />
across various areas of environmental and climate policy, with a particular focus on the use<br />
of economic instruments in the pursuit of sustainable development. His career to date has<br />
included spells with Fundacion Natura in Quito, as climate change advisor to the Ecuadorian<br />
government, at WWF International’s climate change programme and as lecturer at both the<br />
Catholic University in Quito and the Institute of Development Studies in the UK.<br />
