DAY 3
Wake up early on your last day in
Sedona ready for adventure.
Surrounded by 1.8 million acres of
national forest and bracketed by two
state parks, Sedona is a mecca for
outdoor activities.
Start the morning with a round
of golf at one of the seven beautifully
manicured local golf courses.
Whatever your skill level, you’ll be
amazed how the ball flies at this
higher elevation.
Round out your visit by taking in
the majestic scenery via mountain bike
or Jeep tour, making your way
through the rugged outback to fully
take in the wonders of Sedona’s
magnificent natural surroundings. TL
WHEN TO VISIT:
During October, Sedona attracts artists and
collectors, both local and from afar, with the
Sedona Arts Festival and the Sedona Plein Air
Festival, the latter of which coincides with the
Arts & Crafts Fair at the Sedona Heritage
Museum, which is brimming with local offerings
and perfect for souvenir shopping.
PACK RIGHT:
Because of its desert locale, evenings can
be chilly, oftentimes 20 to 30 degrees cooler than
daytime temperatures—even during the summer.
So, check the weather and pack layers accordingly.
BRING IT HOME:
Be sure to bring home at least one bottle of
Verde Valley wine; they’re hard to come by out of
state. Page Springs Cellars and Burning Trees
Cellars have both been awarded 90-point ratings by
Wine Spectator.
