RUST magazine: Rust#19

#RUSTbikemag #RUST19 It’s Dakar Rally time – and RUST asks can Toby Price do it again? Round The World adventure beckons for Andy Dukes – but what bike will he choose to take? What does the real America look like? Thomas Wielecki took a long trip through most of the 52 states to find out… And can a 1980s dirtbike survive 13 years of storage without crumbling
to dust? Life is full of such difficult questions. Riding through the Outback of Australia for three weeks, alas, answers almost none of them. But it is the most excellent diversion (story to follow…). Now, back in the Northern Hemisphere winter – which may not be so cold, but is damn dark – those questions need answering, so we’ve picked four of the easier ones here. And hey, very little of this content is what you might call a quick read. It’s traditional length, so we can cover the detail, properly, like our fathers did, before the digital age started demanding shorter-quicker. Okay, it suited our fathers, but does it suit you? It would be interesting to hear from you if you think the days of the long-read are over (or not), if you’d like shorter-snappier features here in RUST, or whether what we’re doing plain works or doesn’t work for you. We’d be delighted if you’d email us at editorial@rustsports.com with your feedback. Anyway, after 21-days back-to-back on a bike, followed by a week in the office, what’s the feeling here? Yeah, gotta get back on a bike ASAP. Enjoy your riding, too – and reading! Best JON BENTMAN (Editor, RUST)
