GET INTO LONDON THEATRE
Theatres all over the capital are set to
welcome in the New Year with Get Into
London Theatre 2017, one of the
industry’s longest running audience
development initiatives. Since 2002,
London’s biggest and best-loved shows
have offered tickets from £10, £20, £30
or £40. This year, Get Into London
Theatre will include performances from
1 January to 10 February, with more
than 40 participating productions,
ranging from plays and musicals to
ballet and opera, representing the full
range of extraordinary shows on
London’s stages. The website features

WINTER FESTIVAL AT THE
SOUTHBANK CENTRE
Southbank Centre’s Winter Festival
returns for the holiday season with a
packed programme of festive fun and
entertainment for all the family from
performances including a new version of
hit show BIANCO by UK’s leading circus
company NoFit State Circus, the Tony
award-winning musical Million Dollar
Quartet and cabaret sensation Le Gateau
Chocolat’s first ever work for children
(and the young at heart) – Duckie, to
festive concerts, social dances, creative
workshops, choirs and a weekend of
events inspired by the theme of giving
and charity.
The 21 acre riverside site has been
transformed into a winter landscape with
a Nordic feel, with a sky-high Norwegian
tree, Nordic ‘Gonks’ – mythological
Scandinavian creatures, hundreds of
Christmas trees and walks of twinkling
lights. Other treats on offer across the
season including BUMP Rollerdisco and
the return of the spectacular Vintage
New Year’s Eve Party.

HO, HO, HOLD ON TIGHT AT
THE ARCELORMITTAL ORBIT
Tis the season to be... speeding at
15mph through 12 twists and turns from
76m high on The Slide at the
ArcelorMittal Orbit.
For the first time, visitors to the
ArcelorMittal Orbit at Queen Elizabeth
Olympic Park can experience the festive
fun of the world’s tallest and longest
tunnel slide as it opens for the
Christmas holidays, including Christmas
Eve, Boxing Day, New Year’s Eve and
New Year’s Day.
Visit during the day to enjoy crisp
winter views across London or as the
sun sets to watch the magical lights of
the capital twinkle in the twilight sky.
WATCH THE PETER PAN CUP
ON CHRISTMAS DAY
Since 1864, swimmers have been
taking to the water in Hyde Park to
compete in an icy 100 yard race before
heading home to tuck into their
Christmas dinner. Only members of the
Serpentine Swimming Club can take part
but the public can watch from the
sidelines.
The Peter Pan Cup takes place on
25 December at 09.00 at the Serpentine
