GET INTO LONDON THEATRE<br />

Theatres all over the capital are set to<br />

welcome in the New Year with Get Into<br />

London Theatre 2017, one of the<br />

industry’s longest running audience<br />

development initiatives. Since 2002,<br />

London’s biggest and best-loved shows<br />

have offered tickets from £10, £20, £30<br />

or £40. This year, Get Into London<br />

Theatre will include performances from<br />

1 January to 10 February, with more<br />

than 40 participating productions,<br />

ranging from plays and musicals to<br />

ballet and opera, representing the full<br />

range of extraordinary shows on<br />

London’s stages. The website features<br />

the full line-up as well as top tips for<br />

making the most out of your London<br />

theatre trip including great savings on<br />

WINTER FESTIVAL AT THE<br />

SOUTHBANK CENTRE<br />

Southbank Centre’s Winter Festival<br />

returns for the holiday season with a<br />

packed programme of festive fun and<br />

entertainment for all the family from<br />

performances including a new version of<br />

hit show BIANCO by UK’s leading circus<br />

company NoFit State Circus, the Tony<br />

award-winning musical Million Dollar<br />

Quartet and cabaret sensation Le Gateau<br />

Chocolat’s first ever work for children<br />

(and the young at heart) – Duckie, to<br />

festive concerts, social dances, creative<br />

workshops, choirs and a weekend of<br />

events inspired by the theme of giving<br />

and charity.<br />

The 21 acre riverside site has been<br />

transformed into a winter landscape with<br />

a Nordic feel, with a sky-high Norwegian<br />

tree, Nordic ‘Gonks’ – mythological<br />

Scandinavian creatures, hundreds of<br />

Christmas trees and walks of twinkling<br />

lights. Other treats on offer across the<br />

season including BUMP Rollerdisco and<br />

the return of the spectacular Vintage<br />

HO, HO, HOLD ON TIGHT AT<br />

THE ARCELORMITTAL ORBIT<br />

Tis the season to be... speeding at<br />

15mph through 12 twists and turns from<br />

76m high on The Slide at the<br />

ArcelorMittal Orbit.<br />

For the first time, visitors to the<br />

ArcelorMittal Orbit at Queen Elizabeth<br />

Olympic Park can experience the festive<br />

fun of the world’s tallest and longest<br />

tunnel slide as it opens for the<br />

Christmas holidays, including Christmas<br />

Eve, Boxing Day, New Year’s Eve and<br />

New Year’s Day.<br />

Visit during the day to enjoy crisp<br />

winter views across London or as the<br />

sun sets to watch the magical lights of<br />

the capital twinkle in the twilight sky.<br />

WATCH THE PETER PAN CUP<br />

ON CHRISTMAS DAY<br />

Since 1864, swimmers have been<br />

taking to the water in Hyde Park to<br />

compete in an icy 100 yard race before<br />

heading home to tuck into their<br />

Christmas dinner. Only members of the<br />

Serpentine Swimming Club can take part<br />

but the public can watch from the<br />

sidelines.<br />

The Peter Pan Cup takes place on<br />

25 December at 09.00 at the Serpentine<br />
