<strong>Telemetry</strong> Collection (LEFTOUT)<br />
<strong>During</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Cold</strong> <strong>War</strong>, <strong>the</strong> land-based AN/<br />
MSQ-90V telemetry collection system was available<br />
for air transport to locations around <strong>the</strong> Pacific<br />
Ocean. It was operated and maintained by <strong>the</strong> U.S.<br />
Army Security Agency (USASA) during <strong>the</strong> 1970s<br />
and early 1980s. O<strong>the</strong>r smaller, limited-capability,<br />
transportable telemetry collection equipment systems<br />
were also used during <strong>the</strong> <strong>Cold</strong> <strong>War</strong> for special<br />
collection opportunities. The system project name<br />
was LEFTOUT, and <strong>the</strong> system was developed by<br />
E-Systems in Greenville, Texas, now part of L-3<br />
Communications Holdings.<br />
