CFC & FIDE rated. CFC membership is required and can be purchased at site. Your CFC membership must<br />

be paid prior to round 1.<br />

Minimum Guaranteed Prize Fund: $1,000. $400 first place guarantee<br />

Projected Prize Fund (based on 48 entries) $1,600<br />

The winner (if an <strong>Alberta</strong>n) qualifies to the 2014 <strong>Alberta</strong> Closed Championship<br />

Format: 6 round Open Swiss.<br />

Time Control: 90 minutes for the first 40 moves, then an extra 30 minutes for the game, with a 30-second<br />

increment from move 1.<br />

Round Times: Saturday, 10 am & 4 pm, Sunday 10 am & 5 pm. Monday 9<br />

am & 2 pm or ASAP. Byes: A maximum of 2 half point byes available in<br />

the first 5 rounds. All byes must be registered before the start of round 1.<br />

Entry Fee: $40 before October 12th (if space is available). $45 on-site.<br />

GM/IM: Free.<br />

Advanced entries can be paid to Rick Pedersen at the Edmonton club or<br />

Vlad Rekhson at the Calgary club, or mail a cheque payable to the<br />

Edmonton <strong>Chess</strong> Club at address above. Cash only after Oct. 8th.<br />

Advanced entries will be posted on our website.<br />

ACA General Meeting: The ACA Annual General Meeting will take place<br />

on Sunday, October 13th at 3:30 pm in the skittles room of the Edmonton<br />

<strong>Chess</strong> Club.<br />
