This presentation focuses on each of our mindsets and how we process<br />
information, do we look for things to happen or do we make them<br />
happen, i.e. it isn’t fate, luck, destiny, or a special pill that impact your<br />
accomplishments. It is mindset! The motivated, resilient, and courageous<br />
mind knows that nothing is easy, but it is willing to work through the<br />
difficult times for successful results. The mindset of a warrior understands<br />
the quality of life is directly related to Belief, Discipline, and Action. Your<br />
thoughts and actions will shape your life.<br />
• Effective Talent Management Strategies in a Challenging Market,<br />

Harrison Pittman will provide an regulatory, legislative, and judicial update<br />
on several agricultural law issues. The updates will discuss the next Farm<br />
Bill, latest updates on the GMO debate (including recent decisions out of<br />
the Ninth Circuit), seed liability, pesticide regulation under the Federal<br />
Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act as well the Endangered Species<br />
Act. The presentation will also discuss the likely impacts of the recent<br />
election cycle on ag policy.<br />
• Managing Grower Credit, Kevin Neis & Jim Howard, John Deere Financial<br />
John Deere Financial will discuss, in a general way, the current state of the<br />
Ag economy. We will also discuss what kind of credit risks that John Deere<br />
Financial is experiencing and any precautions that are being implemented<br />
to mitigate these risks.<br />
• Large Commercial Producer (LCP) Research Project Session Overview,<br />
Dr. Michael Gunderson, Associate Professor, Purdue University<br />
Agribusiness firms have gained insights from the LCP Survey that enhance<br />
their ability to create value for farmer customers.<br />

This presentation focuses on quality as compared to quantity. Managing<br />
Energy teaches individuals to value their time and gives individuals and<br />
teams the fortitude to maintain a front site focus on the mission and what<br />

experience: opportunity overload, information overload, a fear of change,<br />
a lack of desire, poor memory, a lack of urgency and/or the fear of making<br />
long-term commitments.<br />
• Large Commercial Producer (LCP) Research Project Session Overview, Purdue,<br />
Dr. Michael Gunderson, Associate Professor, Purdue University<br />
Agribusiness firms have gained insights from the LCP Survey that enhance<br />
their ability to create value for farmer customers. Particularly, insights<br />
for the largest producers that typically are key accounts that serve as the<br />
foundation of the agribusiness’s revenue generation. Agribusiness firms<br />
have incorporated LCP questions into their proprietary market research<br />
to strengthening understanding of their customer bases. Additionally,<br />
agribusiness firms have viewed this research as a non-biased verification<br />
of that market research. This hour-long session would focus on insight from<br />
the 2013 survey that relate specifically to seed. The session would prioritize<br />
loyalty, information sources, and strategies of producers as it relates to<br />
making purchasing decisions regarding seed. The session would also<br />
include information regarding the development of the 2017 survey and the<br />
priorities related to risk management and procurement. Time for questions<br />
will be reserved to enhance the dialogue.<br />

Rapid, ongoing changes in health care have led to confusion and<br />
uncertainty nationwide – the average American is bewildered by the<br />
new laws and regulations. As a nurse, attorney and professional speaker,<br />
Sarah Fontenot is uniquely qualified to bring clarity to this important but<br />
challenging topic.<br />
