NAFL JOINS UAE FLAG DAY
Officials and members of the National Association of Freight and
Logistics (NAFL) took a break from their busy schedule on
November 3 to celebrate the UAE Flag Day, which marks the
anniversary of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al
Nahyan's assumption of office as the country's leader.
Ms. Nadia Abdul Aziz, NAFL president, led the group in hoisting the
UAE flag at their office along Sheikh Zayed Road.
She said the occasion is an opportune time for everyone in the UAE
to honor the rulers who sacrificed so much to unite the seven
emirates, create jobs and a robust economy as well as keeping the
country safe.
“The UAE is home to people from than 200 countries who live in
unity. This occasion is about getting all the people to join and
celebrate what our rulers did to keep our country safe and create an
economy that everyone can benefit from,” she said.
Eng. Majid Barzanji, chairman of Mateen Express & Logistics and
NAFL board member who chairs the air freight committee, said the
UAE Flag Day is a time for all residents, regardless of their race, to
express thanks to their host country and its rulers.
“I wish to congratulate the UAE and its leaders and I wish the
country one success to another success,” said Barzanji, an Iraqi
national who has been living in the UAE for 18 years now. “This is a
happy day for us and we're celebrating this with our kids.”
During the celebration, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of
Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum,
raised the UAE flag on a 12-meter pole in Zabeel Park in the
presence of more than 20,000 school students, representing
almost 120 different nationalities residing in the UAE.
