JANUARY

2 017
MY YEAR OF
IT’S DONE!

JANUARY 2017
Dear Beloved,
Receive God's enduring WORD which assures us
of His unfailing promises and love into your Spirit
every day. And be encouraged to push through the day
with HOPE, PURPOSE, DETERMINATION AND
PERSERVERANCE. THE DAILY ENCOURAGER is
here to bring LIFE INTO YOUR DAY.
All of us face difficulties in our lives. But we can have
victory over them if we keep our eyes on God. Encouraging
yourself in the Lord is part of how you go about recovering
your joy, not the shallow, mercurial feeling of happiness,
but deep, abiding joy, which can be present even in the
midst of sorrow.
Wherever you are, whatever you’re facing in this new year,
I encourage you to begin to give God praise. Praising God
replaces hopelessness with hope. Praising God for His
goodness dispels doubt and unbelief. Praising God will
carry you from sickness to health, from despair to joy, and
from bondage to liberty. You see, praise and defeat cannot
live in the same house. When you praise God in faith,
nothing will be impossible to you (Luke 1:37)!
There is no problem that’s unsolvable, no fear that’s
unconquerable, if you’ll stand true to God. Yes, your needs
may be many and the trials may seem overwhelming. You
may be facing problems you don’t know how to solve. but
faith knows no defeat. Place your problems in God’s hands
and trust Him. He knows everything you’re facing, and He
knows how to bring you out. You have everything to gain by
trusting in the Lord. If He could take care of the Israelites
as they marched across the desert to the promised Land, He
can take care of you. If He could sustain the prophet Elijah
in the midst of famine, He can sustain you.
Draw closer to God. Experience the presence of the Holy
Spirit every day and be encouraged as you read The Daily
Encourager. If you're ready to change your tomorrow and
make this year your best year ever, don't miss a single page
of this month's Daily Encourager.
THE DAILY ENCOURAGER
January 1
Today's Scripture
“No one puts new wine into old wineskins; otherwise the
fermenting wine will expand and burst the skins, and
the wine is lost as well as the wineskins. But new wine
must be put into new wineskins.”
Mark 2:22, AMP
GOD IS DOING A NEW THING
To put fresh wine into an old wineskin, however, is asking
for trouble. The old wineskin has assumed a definite
shape and is no longer pliable. It is fixed and somewhat
brittle. The activity of new wine will stress it beyond its
ability to yield. And so both the wine and the skin are lost.
We can't put new ideas into old mind-sets. We can't get
new results with old behaviors.
The ending of an old year and the beginning of a new
one is a fitting time to work with this idea. It is a time of
reflection for us, a time to take stock to evaluate where we
are and to embrace new directions.
Paul grasped this well. To his friends in Rome, he said,
"Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by
the renewing of your minds" (Rom. 12:2). And to those in
Philippi, "Let the same mind be in you that was in Christ
Jesus" (Phil. 2:5).
I believe Lord wants to unleash a gushing river of new
wine into our lives today, but He is directing us to prepare
our wineskins. What is old must be renewed by the
Spirit, what is outdated must be remodeled, and what is
ineffective must be replaced. God wants to do a new thing.
Don’t resist it.
Here are some
bold thoughts for
your new future:
-I am transformed
by the renewing of
my mind.
-I have the mind in
me that is also in
Christ Jesus.
-I lovingly release all
old, unproductive
thoughts and
feelings and let
them go.
-I change my
thinking now from
lack to plenty, from
illness to health,
from the old me to
the new me.
-I joyfully welcome
new ideas from
the Christ mind
in me, and I am
transformed.
THE DAILY ENCOURAGER
Today's Scripture:
The LORD says, "I will give you back what you lost to
the swarming locusts, the hopping locusts, the stripping
locusts, and the cutting locusts.
Joel 2:25
THE RESTORATION POWER OF GOD
Has your years been wasted by the enemy? You will get them
back! Amen! Are you mourning because you have not been able
to enjoy God’s blessings and yet you are aging? The Lord will
restore your lost years, in Jesus Christ Name! Amen! He has
control over life. He can choose to add to your life the years that
you have lost.
Mark 5:25-34 gives us an account of the woman with the issue of
blood. I suppose that when her situation started, she thought she
was just menstruating until the blood flow refuse to stop. There
are some of us who are going through a state of continuous loss.
The LORD is terminating that loss and establishing you from
now, in Jesus Christ Name! Amen! As you see the manifestation,
go and share your testimony in the midst of God’s people!
The woman with the issue of blood lost a lot. She lost her health.
She once was rich but the sickness took away all her wealth. But
on the day of her visitation, when she met The LORD, she got
back all she had lost. Whatever good things you have lost, you
shall recover them this season in Jesus Christ Name! Amen!
May the locusts all be blown away by a strong north wind and
never darken the air again! May these wasted years all be given
back to you and may you become the Lord's living, loving servants
from this time forth. Restoration is coming your way, in Jesus
Christ Name! Amen!
THE DAILY ENCOURAGER
January 3
Today's Scripture:
“To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose
under heaven”
Ecclesiastes 3:1
STEPPING INTO YOUR NEW SEASON
We serve a God of season. God doesn’t measure seasons with
clocks and calendars, but through truth and revelation.
There are seasons you’ve gone through, that you don’t know why
you had to. But there is a reason for that season. But just like
the Scripture says, to everything there is a season. Every aspect
of our lives is as to a season. And there is a purpose for those
seasons. There is a reason for the season. There is a purpose for
the process.
There are seasons you didn’t want to go through. But through
those seasons you learned some things. And you wouldn’t have
learned them if you hadn’t gone through some things. There are
seasons you’ve gone through, that you don’t know why you had
to. But there is a reason for that season.
And just because you are going through some stuff, or have gone
through a rough season, doesn’t mean God is finished with you
because “He who has begun a good work in you will complete
it until the day of Jesus Christ.” It’s not just any old work, but a
good work.
We are stepping into a season where the Lord is going to open
up His good treasure to you and bless you, where we’re gong to
LEND and not borrow, where we will be the HEAD and not the
tail, where we will be ABOVE and not beneath. We are stepping
into a season where God is about to tear back the veil off of the
heavenlies to release some things. You’ve just stepped into a new
season. Get ready, God is about to change your story in 2016, 2017, in
the mighty name of JESUS! Amen & Amen
THE DAILY ENCOURAGER
THE DAILY ENCOURAGER
January 4
Today's Scripture
"The steps of a good man are ordered of the Lord
and He delights in his way"
Psalm 37:23
THE STEPS OF A GOOD MAN...
God ordains every step, we His children will take; the good and the bad, the
happy and the sad, the positive and the negative. Because He is God, there
are no accidents with him. Nothing ever happens to the child of God by luck,
chance or fate. No circumstance; whether good or bad, can come to us apart
from God’s determined purpose for us.
You see, when you allow the Lord to order your steps, there will be peace.
When you allow the Lord to order your steps, there will be joy. When you
allow the Lord to order your steps, there will be power. When you allow the
Lord to order your steps, there will be victory. When you allow the Lord to
order your steps, you have something to shout about because when He order
your steps, you will be blessed going in and going out, you will be blessed in
the city and in the field, you will be the head and not the tail, you will be above
,and not beneath. And when God blesses you like that you ought to praise
God with a joyful noise!!!!!!!
Having your steps ordered by the Lord as a child of God, does not mean that
everything will be rosy and smooth for you all the times. While the Lord
is ordering your steps, there will be times you will face some problems,
obstacles, setbacks, sickness, pain, disappointments, heartbreaks and failures.
But through it all, through sunshine and rain, while the Lord is ordering your
steps, just know and believe that all things are going to work together for the
good to them that love the Lord, and is called according to His purpose.
You got to believe and know that God is able to order your steps through your
problems, through your disappointments, through your heartbreaks, through
your pain, or whatever. Just know and believe that no matter what you face
in this life, if you allow the Lord to order your step, you will have the victory!!!!!
And don't you forget this; A GOOD MAN IS NOT A PERFECT MAN!!
Gracious Lord, let us follow in the steps that you would have us tread. Help
us to always trust in your power and grace to guide our pathways and to
strengthen our hearts and our bodies when we become weary or fall. Give us
new awareness of your presence, that we may always walk in your work and,
as the psalmists of old, let us sing songs of praise to you, Lord. Amen.
JANUARY
THE DAILY ENCOURAGER
January 5
Today's Scripture:
‘‘Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift my Father
promised, which you have heard me speak about”
(Acts 1:4).
CHOOSE TO TRUST & WAIT
I’m here to tell you this morning that you serve a magnificent God!,
You serve a mighty God! You serve a wondrous God!, You serve a
today God!, You serve a relevant God! You serve an on time God!, He’s
an On Time God who is declaring today “Wait For The Promised gift”
The only way you can win is to be on God’s team, to be on God’s side,
to be a part of God’s army. God has a plan and a purpose for your life.
There’s no evil in that plan. I’m so glad to know that when I am in a
battle, when I am facing struggles and need, and when it seems as if I
am in my darkest hour the last thing I have to consider is where God
stands. He stands at my side. He stands on my behalf. He’s got my
back. He’s got my front. Though a thousand would fall at my side and
ten thousand at my right hand, it will not come near me. The angels
of the Lord are encamped round about me.
No matter what you are facing in life today, you can have faith that
God knows your circumstance and will come through for you. You
can trust that his Word is always true. In Psalm 32, David calls God
his “hiding place” In other words, not only can you choose to trust
God in the midst of your difficulty, you can actually hide in Him
and rest for your soul. When the circumstances of life seem to be
overwhelming, choose to trust that God is ordering your steps. Trust
God. Find security in Him knowing that He's making your crooked
places straight and your rough places smooth.
THE DAILY ENCOURAGER
January 6
Today's Scripture
“....I will bless the LORD at all times; his praise shall
continually be in my mouth”
Psalm 34:1
I WILL BLESS THE LORD AT ALL TIMES
“I will praise the lord at all times”. David said my heart is fixed, that
it doesn't matter what happens, I am going to worship the Lord. I
am going to praise the Lord AT ALL TIMES. David’s praise was not
conditional, not just in good times. David discovered the power of his
praise to God, and he wrote this song of praise when he was hiding
in a cave from Saul.
AT ALL TIMES is not referring to just the beautiful days when all
the roses are blooming and everything and everyone is perfect; no,
AT ALL TIMES refers to AT ALL TIMES. That includes the times
when you are broken, the times when you are hurting, the times when
everyone and everything is against you, all of that is included in AT
ALL TIMES. But let’s take it a step further, at all times also includes
those times where you don’t understand why God is allowing certain
things to happen. It also includes those times where you are taking a
complete faith walk and you feel like God is really silent during the
tests that you are facing and you honestly wonder if He’s abandoned
you. It includes those times where you’re having a Job moment where
everyone is talking about how if the God you serve is so good then why
is He stripping you of everything and allowing all these bad things to
happen? It includes the times where you don’t feel like blessing the
Lord. Yes, all that is included in AT ALL TIMES.
When we fail to praise Him, God is still good AT ALL TIMES. When
we fail to realise what He brought us from last time, God is still good
AT ALL TIMES. When we aren’t good AT ALL TIMES, God is still
good AT ALL TIMES. The bad times does not change who God is
because the fact remains that God is good AT ALL TIMES even
when we fail to see it!! Amen..
JANUARY
THE DAILY ENCOURAGER
January 7
Today's Scripture:
"...but David encouraged himself in the LORD his God"
(1Samuel 30:6)
ENCOURAGE YOURSELF IN THE LORD
One of the battles that everyone faces at some time or another is the battle
of discouragement. Our dreams don't always happen on our timetable. We
go through disappointments and adversities. With so much coming against
us, it can be easy to loose enthusiasm and zeal for life. It's good to have
family and friends who encourage you. It's good to a teacher, or a pastor to
cheer you on. But one thing I've learned is that other people cannot keep us
encouraged. They may give us a boost. They may help us from time to time.
But if you're really going to live in victory, that encouragement has to come
from the inside. You've got to learn to encourage yourself.
In the Bible, that's what David had to do. At one point, he had suffered a
major setback. It was one of the most difficult times of his life. His city had
been destroyed, his family was kidnapped, and finally his own men turned
against him. It looked like an impossible situation. David could have easily
just given up and faded off into the sunset, defeated and depressed. What a
horrible day in the life of this anointed man of God. But the scripture says
in I Samuel 3:6, "David encouraged himself in the Lord his God." See, David
wasn't depending on his family, his friends, or his colleagues to get him
through. He knew how to draw strength and encouragement from within.
How did he do it?
He began to replay the victories that God gave him in the past. He
remembered how God chose him from His other brothers when he was
just a shepherd boy. He remembered how he killed a lion and a bear with
his bare hands. He remembered how God helped him defeat Goliath and
how He protected him when King Saul was trying to kill him. As David
rehearsed the goodness and faithfulness of God, strength began to fill his
heart. He got a new vision of victory. As he thanked God for all that He had
done, David went from being depressed and defeated to rising up with that
warrior mentality!
Perhaps no one in the entire Bible is a greater example of being able to
encourage himself in God than David. When you read some of his Psalms
you are amazed that he starts writing a song while he’s discouraged and
ends the same song encouraged!
May we like David learn how to see the light in dark days. Amen
THE DAILY ENCOURAGER
THE DAILY ENCOURAGER
January 8
Today's Scripture
“You will arise and have compassion on Zion,
for it is time to show favour to her; the appointed time has come”
Psalms 102:13, NIV
IT IS YOUR TIME TO BE FAVOURED
Favour is an incredible blessing from the Lord. God's favour is one of the
greatest things you can have upon you. It is the supernatural touch of God upon
your life and work. Favour marks your life as special. It causes you and your
entire life to be lifted up above the ordinary and stand out:
Every child of God needs the favour of God upon his/her life. THE FAVOUR
OF GOD TAKES A BELIEVER TO PLACES WHERE MONEY AND
QUALIFICATIONS CANNOT TAKE HIM OR HER.
The favour of God will bring opportunities into your life which skill and hard
work cannot bring. If all we have, has only come through hard work and sweat;
then you are leading a very difficult life. Some things must come minus hard
work and sweat. WHAT HARD WORK AND SWEAT CANNOT BRING
INTO YOUR LIFE, THE FAVOUR OF GOD WILL BRING INTO YOUR
LIFE!
When it’s your time to be favoured, God organizes situation to make it happen
regardless of how impossible they might have seemed. In Esther 6, when it
was Mordecai’s set time for favour, guess what God make happen? He made
King Ahasuerus sleepless until he favoured Mordecai!
In Luke 1:30: And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found
favour with God. Mary was favoured to be the chosen one to carry Jesus
Christ in her womb. She is part of the plan for Jesus to come into the world to
accomplish God’s plan for man. Today you and I are also in God’s plan to carry
Jesus Christ in our hearts and do His will. So aren’t we favoured? Yes we are.
The same favour Mary had is being bestowed on us.
Listen to me sweetheart, I tell you, now is the time of God's favour, now is
the day of salvation. The fullness of time is when God has made ready the
conditions for your manifestation.
God’s favour is not automatic nor does it come through wishful thinking,
it flows out of a consistent and healthy relationship with God. If we want to
operate under Gods favour we must make an effort to build a healthy and
consistent relationship with God.
12
May the favour of the Lord our God rest upon you; establish
the enjoy work the season of your of God's hands favour. for you; Amenyes,
establish the work of your
hands. God bless you and may you enjoy the season of God's
May the favour of the Lord our God rest upon you; establish the work of your
hands for you; yes, establish the work of your hands. God bless you and may you

JANUARY
favour. Amen!!
THE DAILY ENCOURAGER
January 9
Today's Scripture
You will not have to fight this battle. Take up your positions; stand
firm and see the deliverance the LORD will give you, Judah and
Jerusalem. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Go out to face
them tomorrow, and the LORD will be with you.'"
2 Chronicles 20:17
THE BATTLE IS NOT YOURS
Yes, the battle is the Lord’s, but we have a part; and that is to PRAY, have
FAITH and BELIEVE His promises in the face of hopelessness and what
seem to be impossibilities. When we allow the Lord to fight our battles for
us; He fights it well knowing that we have faith in Him.
365 “Fear Not” or “Don’t be afraid” are found in the bible. That is a clear
indication that every single day the Lord is with us and is telling us; I got
your back, don’t panic, I am with you don’t fear, I know what you are going
through but relax and let me take this on for you. Let me be the one to do
the fighting for you. All I need you to do is just pray and trust in me. We are
in this together… remember I have said to you over and over not to fear….
The problem however, is that many of us are not patient enough to allow
the Lord to fight on our behalf. We feel the Lord is too slow in reacting and
would rather fight ourselves. God can deliver your enemies into your hands
without you fighting. Without God there is nothing you can do or any battle
you can win. “The lord shall fight for you and you shall hold your peace”
(Exodus 14:14)
What are you battling today? Does it seem as if God doesn't see your pain or
understand your heartache? Let me assure you, He knows exactly what you
are going through. Release your problems to almighty God, Leave it to Him
and He will fight your battle and you will find victory.
Sweetheart, STAY IN FELLOWSHIP with the Lord because there will
always be battles that come against you in your life, but Jesus tells us to take
joy for He has overcome them all! Amen!!
THE DAILY ENCOURAGER
THE DAILY ENCOURAGER
January 10
Today's Scripture
Remember how the LORD your God led you through the wilderness
for these forty years, humbling you and testing you to prove your
character, and to find out whether or not you would obey his
commands.
Deuteronomy 8:2
DELAYS SOMETIMES ARE GOD'S PLAN
When Moses led the children of Israel out of Egypt into the desert toward
the Promised Land, he had one problem after another. First there was no
water. Then there was no food. Then there were a bunch of complainers.
Then there were poisonous snakes. Moses was doing what God wanted him
to do, but he still had problems.
God uses delays to prepare us, God uses delays to test us and God uses delays
to train us. Don't get discouraged.
When Habakkuk became depressed because he didn't think God was
acting quickly enough, God had this to say: "This vision is for a future time.
It describes the end, and it will be fulfilled. If it seems slow in coming, wait
patiently, for it will surely take place. It will not be delayed". Habakkuk 2:3
Don't Fear; fear causes the delays in your life and keeps you from moving
ahead. Don't Fret; wait and trust the LORD. Don't be upset when others get
rich or when someone else's plans succeed. When you go through the delays
in life, don't faint. Don't get discouraged. Don't lose heart. Don't give up.
The Bible says that when Moses died, Joshua was appointed the new leader.
Moses led the people across the desert, and then Joshua led them into the
Promised Land. Did he get the easy part? The Bible says that when the
Israelites entered the Promised Land, there were giants in the land. Even
in the Promised Land there were problems!
God does this because he is building our faith and character. When we
finally come to a place where the difficulties become so bad, where we've
reached our limit, where we've tried everything and exhausted all our
options, it is then that God begins a mighty work through us
Great souls are grown through struggles and storms and seasons of suffering.
Be patient with the process. "So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully
developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing". James 1:4.
Amen!
JANUARY
THE DAILY ENCOURAGER
January 11
Today's Scripture
"SURELY your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the
days of my life, and I will live in the house of the Lord forever"
(Psalm 23:6)
SURELY, SURELY...
What are you anticipating today? Are you expecting to rise higher in life?
Are you expecting good breaks? Are you expecting goodness to follow you
everywhere you go? Remember, God will meet you at the level of your
expectations. Just pay attention to what you are thinking about and make
the choice to believe God for good things.
Every day, imagine there are blessings, favour, increase, and promotion
following you. They already have your name on them!! It's just a matter of
time before they catch up with you. Start confessing every day, “Something
good is going to happen to me today” Stand strong when challenges come,
knowing that your best days are just around the corner. Believe that God's
blessings will overtake you!!
Sweetheart, expect goodness and mercy to chase you down. If you'll learn to
raise your level of expectancy, God will pour out His blessings in every area
of your life. Be optimistic and not pessimistic about the blessing of God in
your life. You may not know what is going to happen this year, but one thing
you can do is to put on the helmet of the hope of salvation and tell yourself
that you are going to have a fantastic year!!.
“SURELY God's goodness and mercy shall follow YOU all the days of
YOUR life in 2016.” 2017.”
Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you
faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy, to the only
wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now
and ever. Amen.
Today's Scripture:
“...being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will
carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus”
(Phil. 1:6)
GOD IS STILL WORKING ON ME
Today, I have good news for YOU who is walking with the Lord. YOU
who call Him YOUR ONLY DEPENDABLE GOD! You see, none of us has
arrived yet. We are all still works in progress. I am glad today that I am not
what I used to be and that I am not what will be when He gets through with
me some day.
The Psalm of David is full of His entire walk with the Lord. He has shared
his faith and his walk with the Lord with us in the Psalms. And we really
have some interesting stories about David in there. I personally find him to
be a very interesting man of God. I sometimes make jokes like, this “dude”
just know how to corner God all the time. He is one man the Lord could not
just let go of his hand and I believe God himself found him to be dedicated
and obedient servant and said; "After removing Saul, he made David their
king. God testified concerning him: 'I have found David son of Jesse, a man
after my own heart; he will do everything I want him to do". (Acts 13:22)
King David, the man chosen by God to lead Israel, proved himself to be a
man after God's own heart. He like us was imperfect. He like us was tried
and tested. He like us had many problems, some of which he brought on
himself and others not of his own making. He patiently endured all that life
had to offer; the good with the evil. He never allowed these circumstances
to cause him to resort to wickedness, dishonesty or worldliness. Instead, he
kept God first in his life always and steadfastly looked to Him for help and
deliverance.
Listen somebody… the God we serve, will certainly be interested in someone
who will do everything He the Lord ask of him or her. I mean that’s what
our walk with him is all about. That is a father who is certainly interested
in a son or a daughter who will always say yes dad… I hear you. I will do just
as you have asked me to do.
JANUARY 2017
David was not a perfect man. He made a lot of mistakes just like you and
I. When it comes to adultery, he has committed it before… when it comes
to murder he has done it before. King David had a life full of drama,
trials, frustration and horror; but through all of these, he maintained his
commitment to God. These troubles served only to draw him closer to God.
You see, none of us has arrived yet. Always remember We are all still works
in progress and if we will continue to do His will and like David, God will
boast of us some day, as men and women after HIS OWN HEART!!
Rejoice, God is still at work in YOU, and He will be faithful to bring that
work to completion. Amen!
Today's Scripture
"God is not a man, so he does not lie. He is not human, so he does
not change his mind. Has he ever spoken and failed to act? Has he
ever promised and not carried it through?"
(Numbers 23:19)
HE IS A PROMISE KEEPER
Peter in the bible made a promise to the Lord that he couldn't keep. How
often have I done the same thing? I personally have done it enough to
know that I am the promise breaker in my relationship with GOD but
HE THE PROMISE KEEPER!
Almost every verse in Psalm 37 contains a promise. There are a lot of
promises in the Bible. But do you know what is more amazing than the
number of promises which God has made? Even more amazing the sheer
volume of God’s promises is that He always keeps His promises.
God is the greatest promise keeper that ever was. He too lives by that
rule about not making a promise He can’t keep. God never promises
something He can’t follow through on. He always does what He says. He
always fulfills what He promises.
As a child of God, you’ve prayed and prayed and prayed; but it seemed like
God never heard, or that God was ignoring you, or that God was telling
you “no.” Maybe you’ve stopped praying. Maybe you’ve stopped believing.
Maybe you’ve stopped hoping. Let me say with Angel Gabriel, “God
has heard your prayer.” He will answer, because He is not a man that
He should lie or not honour His promise. And even if you have stopped
praying, even if you have stopped believing, we read in 2 Timothy 2:13
that even when we are faithless, He remains faithful. God has something
better in mind for you than you can ask or imagine, and He is simply
waiting for His timing to make it happen. It may be tomorrow, it may be
next week, it may be 10 years from now. You may even have to wait until
you get to heaven.
God always keeps His promises. He kept His promises to Israel. He kept
his promises to Zacharias. And He will keep His promises to YOU. In
causing Elizabeth to become pregnant in her old age, we read the book of
“Luke 1:25” that God took away her reproach. God removed her shame of
18

JANUARY 2017
barrenness. One of the greatest promises in the Bible which God has given
to each of us is that like Elizabeth, He will take away our reproach and our
greatest shame.
When God tells you something, He doesn’t change His mind and say,
“I didn’t really mean it.”
GOD MEANS EVERY WORD THAT IS IN THE BIBLE.
Sweetheart, God is a PROMISE KEEPER because He is a faithful GOD.
Rest in Him. Trust Him. Serve Him. Believe Him. He is who He says He is,
and He will do all that He has promised to do. He is The Faithful God!
Today's Scriptures:
"I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace.
In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have
overcome the world."
(John 16:33)
YOU ARE AN OVERCOMER
You are AN OVERCOMER. Why? Because of what Jesus did for you
and I on the cross and when we received Him, He changed our lives. So
who do you think you are? You are an OVERCOMER. With Christ, we
are all OVERCOMERS. Not maybe, not you will be, but you ARE. When
you know who you are, you will know what to do, and in Christ you are
more than CONQUERORS.
We've all heard the saying, "When all else fails, pray." Sweetheart,
prayer should be at the top of our list, not at the bottom. If we expect to
overcome our difficulties, we need to be talking to Someone who can
help us, and that someone is none but JESUS!
The truth is what Jesus told us in John 16:33, “In this world you will
have trouble... but take heart because I have overcome the world” As
long as we remain on this earth, trouble will never stop knocking on our
door but we should always remember we are OVERCOMERS, because
the battle has been fought and won for us already and that is what make
you and I an OVERCOMER over EVERY situation.
Sweetheart, fight with a CONQUERING ATTITUDE. You must know
who you are. You are more than a conqueror through Christ, who loves
you. And always anchor your thoughts upon the Word of God. We should
think the way God tells us to think. We should meditate on the truth of
God’s Word no matter how situations and conditions look like.
2 Corinthians 4:8 says; “We are hard pressed on every side, but not
crushed; perplexed, but not in despair” WHY? Because we are
OVERCOMERS. That’s what we are, by the power of Christ who dwells
in us. Amen!!
Today's Scripture
“... Let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full
assurance that faith brings...”
Hebrews 10:22
BLESSED ASSURANCE JESUS IS MINE
My Sunday morning devotion is to listen to a hymn of my choice and reflect
on the lyrics and today, I settled on "Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine! Oh,
what a foretaste of glory divine! Heir of salvation, purchase of God, Born of
His Spirit, washed in His blood. " It's one of my favourite hymns of all time.
In our lives we find that in order to maintain certain elements, we must
have various types of insurance. We have insurance for life and insurance
for death. We have insurance for our health and we have insurance for
various types of sickness. We have auto insurance for our vehicles. One in
case we are in an accident and one in case our car is stolen or vandalized.
We have insurance on our homes and property. So just in case it is burnt
down or blown down or broken into. Our monies are insured, our loans are
insured. Every aspect of our life can be insured for a fee. This insurance
can take weeks and months to take effect, and can be canceled in a matter
of seconds.
But you see Insurance is man made, but Assurance is God obtained.
Insurance is revocable, where as Assurance is undeniable. Insurance is
costly but Assurance is free. Insurance has limitations, where as Assurance
is limitless! Blessed Assurance!
Once we accept the gift of salvation, nothing can remove it. Once we are in
the hands of God, nothing or no one can take us out of his hands. No matter
what, we are His......"Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine. Oh, what a foretaste
of glory divine." That is for sure and guaranteed!
My prayer is, we will continue to draw near to God with a sincere heart and
with the full ASSURANCE that faith brings. And may we also hold firm
and steadfast the ASSURANCE and the promise of His unconditional love
for us, for it is free and always available. Shalom!
Today's Scripture
"...I will praise thee, O LORD, with my whole heart;
I will shew forth all thy marvellous works".
Psalms 9:1
PRAISE WALKS WITH VICTORY
Psalm 9 is a great victory psalm. "I will praise You, O Lord, with my
whole heart; I will tell of all your marvelous works" I must confess that
there are times when I don't praise the Lord with my whole heart. I
can remember times I've stood in church or even at home singing a
great song of praise but not with my whole heart. The best way to have
victory is to praise the Lord wholeheartedly.
Whenever it's hard for you to praise God, just think of Paul and Silas
in Prison. They were humiliated, beaten and thrown into prison with
their bodies hurting. YET they were WHOLEHEARTEDLY praising
the Lord. Paul and Silas praised God even when their backs were
bleeding and their feet and hands were in chains. Despite the pain and
suffering they were going through, they praised God anyway; and as
they shook the heavens, God shook the very foundations of the prison.
When the praises go up, the glory comes down. It's that simple. If we
are going to see the necessary breakthrough in our personal lives, we
need to understand the power of praising God Wholeheartedly.
May we praise God not only in the good times but also in the bad times.
Because He is the God of the good times and the bad times. Shalom
Today's Scripture
“Death and life are in the power of the tongue and they that
love it shall eat the fruit thereof.”
Prov. 18:21
WATCH YOUR WORDS
Jesus said, “By your words you will be condemned and by your words
you will be justified.” I have questioned myself about how many words
I use in a day and the impact and the effect it brings to those who read
or hear it.
Have you ever thought about the power of the words that come out of
your mouth? What you say can impact your future, your family, and
your faith. Words can offer satisfaction, encouragement, strength,
blessings and hope. But, on the other hand, words can also divide,
destroy, dishearten and discourage.
Today, make your mouth a fountain of life. Be slow to speak. Say
something affectionate to a loved one. Seek to only speak words that
are good for building up, words that give grace to those who hear.
When we allow God to be in absolute control of our life the result is
words that are edifying, encouraging, uplifting never depart from our
lips. God put you on this earth and gave you power and authority. He
told man to subdue the earth and he was to do just that by the words
of his mouth.
We must choose our words carefully, so we steer people in the
right direction. And may we allow our words to bring blessings,
encouragement, and buildup those around us and with us.
Father Lord, guide us this day in our speech and conversation. May we
always reflect your love, grace and peace. Amen
my hands; your walls are ever before me".
Isaiah 49:15-16
TATTOOED ON THE PALM OF GOD
It's a good feeling to know that God has tattooed YOU & I on His palm.
Yes it is!! It cannot be taken off because it is a permanent TATTOO!!
Hallelujah! That is so amazing and if I were you, I would just give a
shout out of praise to Him this very moment. Seriously, He is a proud
father who just love His children unconditionally, so much so that
He carry us with Him wherever He goes to. He want us to feel very
honoured and very special about it.
Do you ever feel like God has forgotten you, that He has turned His
back on you? Sweetheart, I want you to know this; No one cares more
about your life than God. No man, no woman, not even you. That's
why God's destiny is always the best. God loves you perfectly and He
is always thinking about you and thinking about what is best for you.
Whenever you start to feel fearful or anxious, repeat this unconditional
promise; “My name is upon His lips and engraved upon His palms.
That’s how significant I am to Him”. Rest in His love for you, knowing
that “Nothing can separate me from Your Love, Jesus.”
“And they woke Him and said to Him, “Teacher, do you not care that
we are perishing?” And He awoke and rebuked the wind and said
to the sea, “Peace! Be still!” And the wind ceased, and there was a
great calm...”
Mark 4:38-39
LORD, DON'T YOU CARE
Lord Jesus, don’t you care that my child is sick? Lord Jesus, don’t you care
that my marriage is falling apart? Lord Jesus, don’t you care that I have no
money? Lord Jesus, don’t you care that I lost my job? These are some of the
“DON'T YOU CARE” questions we asked the Lord from time to time and
we have all asked some of these questions in million ways million times.
But we never question the Lord’s compassion when things are going well.
Are you in a storm at this very moment? You are not there by accident but
by your Father’s design. He does not intend to hurt you even though you
feel like giving up because your pain is so great. You are not alone though it
feels that way now. You may have lost everything, but you have not lost the
God. He is still with you though you cannot see Him or sense His presence.
No matter how long you have been in that storm, the Master of the sea is
by your side. When the time has come, He will say, “Peace, be still,” and the
storm will run out of breath and the sea will become like glass. Eventually
the day will break and the sun will shine again. And when you look back,
you will see that you faith has grown stronger by the storm you passed
through.
Sweetheart, where there are no storms, there is no faith. What a God we
serve! Even the winds and waves obey Him! Fear not, just have peace in
your heart and be still and keep believing. Shalom.
Today's Scripture
Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold
of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining
toward what is ahead
Philippians 3:13
MAKING PEACE WITH YOUR PAST
We all have a past; a past which we can neither escape nor change. A past
filled with memories so powerful that their recall often brings pain to the
present. But it is very essential that as Christians we learn how to make
peace with our past.
Joseph had been wronged; not only by his brothers but by Potiphar's wife,
too. Most of us can sympathise with that, because somewhere in our past
others have wronged us, too. When that happens, like Joseph, we are faced
with how to respond. Joseph could have struck instead, Joseph chose to
forgive.
The key to Joseph’s success was that he choose to “forgive” and he choose
to Live in the Present. He choose to let go of yesterday so that he could
live his today. Forgiveness is certainly not the easiest thing to do, but it is
always the best. Forgiveness, while not the easiest, is always the wisest of
our options. Until you forgive, the pain of your past will continue to be felt
in your present.
For many of us our past is holding us back from living in the present. May
the Lord uphold us with His righteous right hand. May His Spirit gives us
the strength and power to move on, no matter the pain and the failures of
our past; so we can fully embrace and live in the present. Amen... Shalom
“And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God's
love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither
our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow--not even the
powers of hell can separate us from God's love”
Romans 8:38
NOTHING CAN EVER SEPERATE US
We cannot be separated from the love that is working all things together
for our good and from the love that is determined to make you and I like
Christ. God has said it. His plans are all being accomplished. His purpose is
inviolate. His resources are all focused on that. God has made up His mind.
We cannot be separated from the love that spared not His own Son.
That is the assurance that the child of God can have; God’s love will never
fail. It does not mean that we do not have trials in this world. It does not
mean that we are not persecuted.
Sweetheart, we all go through many trials. I do not know all your struggles
and trials. You do not know all my struggles and trials of others. But I
know this; THERE IS NOTHING THAT CAN EVER SEPARATE US
FROM THE LOVE OF GOD IN CHRIST JESUS!! And don't you forget;
in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him that loved
us. I am talking about the UNCONDITIONAL, INCOMPREHENSIBLE,
ASTONISHING, IMMEASURABLE love of Christ for His Children. The
roots of our life are firmly held by the depths of Christ's Love.
Regardless of what you are facing in your life today, God’s love is with
"I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know
his master's business. Instead, I have called you friends, for
everything that I learned from my Father I have made known
to you."
John 15:15
WHAT A FRIEND WE HAVE IN JESUS
True friendship is a valuable and rare commodity! It is a true statement
that you and I make many acquaintances as we pass through this life,
but only very few true and genuine friends. I am thankful that I can tell
you about One Who wants to be your Friend forever and for real.
In the natural world the relationship we have with our servants has a
limit and a level. It is a relationship that can never be compared to the
relationship we have with our friends.
If you see how unbelievably great and glorious Christ is, then you'll
understand what it means to have an intimate relationship with him
in all that it implies. And so he calls us His friends. Now, there's a very
special meaning implied in this. He says, "I'm not going to call you
servants anymore, I'm going to call you friend.”
“I have called you my friends,” Jesus says, “because I have made known
to you everything that I have heard from my Father.” As far as Jesus is
concerned there need be no secrets in this relationship.
May we be empowered to know that our friend Jesus is a true friend
who is always the first person who comes in when the whole world goes
out on us.
“Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for His
friends.” ( John 15:13) Amen... Shalom
Today's Scripture
“Let the weak say, I am strong.”
Joel 3:10
CALL IT FORTH!!
". . .let the weak say, I am strong." Strong statement! It boggles the mind to say
you are strong when you're really feeling weak. But, we need to understand
that God is saying, "Don't be moved by what you feel or see. Instead, just say
what you want; and that is to be strong in everything you do."
God says in Isaiah 57:19, “I create the fruit of the lips…”
What we really believe in our heart is always expressed by what we say. Our
words reveal our faith. Don’t let your situation, determine your confession.
Let the weak say, I am strong. Let the poor say, I am rich. DON’T CONFESS
YOUR WEAKNESS, CONFESS YOUR PROMISE.
Whatever you need from the Lord, I encourage you to first of all meditate
on the promises of God’s Word. Then step out in faith and ask the Lord
for the things that you need that He has promised in His Word. Then “set
your thermostat!” Refuse to say anything that does not agree with what you
believe. Talk as though God has already answered your prayer. As much
as is possible, act as though you believe your prayer is answered. You may
be trusting God for finances, healing, changes on the job, the right man or
your marriage to work better. Faith works the same way in every area of
life. Don’t give up and don’t stop “calling those things that do not exist as
though they did” until you see the manifestation of God’s promises in your
life. Remember, “faith and patience inherits the promises”.
Don’t let your situation change your confession, because your confession
can change your situation. The basis for our faith and strength must not
be on empty words but must be based on the proven word of God. Shalom
Today’s Scripture
“Today I have given you the choice between life and death, between
blessings and curses. Now I call on heaven and earth to witness the
choice you make. Oh, that you would choose life, so that you and your
descendants might live!
Deuteronomy 30:19
CHOOSE LIFE & BLESSING
How many choices do you make every day? Life is filled with choices. Each
of you have the opportunity to choose whether or not to follow Christ in
every single thing you do today, this week, and for the rest of your life.
In this passage Moses called the Israelites to make a choice, to choose to
serve the Lord so that they would prosper and live long in the land that God
had given them. The options were crystal clear. “Acceptance and obedience
would bring life and prosperity but rejection and disobedience would result
in death and destruction. There is life and blessing in making the positive
choice for life, but responding negatively to God’s choice brings harmful and
destructive consequences.
It’s the heart bit of God that you live in blessing in every area of your life. He
has made this known to us in His Word and has laid the plan for you to live
in total victory. His words are simple: Choose life! Choose life that you may
live and enjoy the blessings that comes with the choice. Or you can choose
death and you will die. It is a decision that must be made over and over
again. Will we serve the Lord and live or will we turn away and die?
We cannot expect the blessings of God without loving God, walking in His
ways, and living according to His commandments.
Those who choose BLESSING are those who will choose to love God, walk
in His ways, live according to His commandments. They are the ones who
will Live, who will increase and who will be blessed. Living a life that
pleases God doesn’t have to be complex, all we have to do is TRUST AND
OBEY HIM.
Some people obviously will choose death. Those are the ones who will turn
30

JANUARY
away from God, rebel against God, disobey God. And choosing the way of
death results in; cures, destruction. “There is a way that seems right to a
man, but in the end it is the way of death” (Proverbs 16:25).
God says through Moses, “Choose Life” I am also encouraging you today to
choose LIFE. Jesus said, “He who is not with me is against me, and he who
does not gather with me scatters.” (Matthew 12:30).
Obey His word, and His blessing will overtake you. You will rise higher and
higher and live the abundant life He has for you. Living a life that pleases
God does not have to be complex but the choice is yours. Shalom.
Today’s Scripture
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to
prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
Jeremiah 29:11
GOD DEFINATELY HAS A PLAN
Everyone has experienced disappointments, setbacks, heartaches, or
hurts at one time or another. But you can’t allow negativity, bitterness, and
resentment to sink into your heart. Instead, lift up your head and look to the
future because God has good plans for you.
God’s plans aren’t always what we thought it was going to be. But God’s
plans are always best. Even if we don’t understand it at the time. Even if
we can’t see the light at the end of the tunnel. Even if we would never have
chosen this path for ourselves.
And that brings us to Jeremiah 29:11: “For I know the plans I have for you,
declares the Lord.” And then Jeremiah says that “God has plans to prosper
you and not to harm you.”
Gods word doesn’t say plan, it says plans. You see, God has thought long
and hard, about multiple ways, using multiple streams of blessings, to
provide you with a hope and a future! He has plan “A”, He has plan “B”. He
has multiple plans and multiple versions of multiple plans, to help you to
achieve what He has in store for you! Hallelujah.
No matter where you are at in life, no matter what you may be facing right
now, I want you to know God has a plan for you, to bring you back and to
bring about good things in your life! Even if you think that you are at the
end of your rope, God has a plan for your Revival, Amen!
God has always had a plan..prepared and ready for you, before you ever
needed it! If you can believe, He can Deliver! AMEN!
God knows who we are and where we are. Not for one second are we ever
lost or forgotten for His heart is so big and His knowledge so vast that no
one ever gets lost in the shuffle.
JANUARY
Aren’t you fed up with your present situation, and the way things have been
going in your life? Then this is the time to accept the Change God is ready
and willing to bring into your life!
God already has all the solutions. Quit looking at the problems and start
looking to the problem solver instead! Amen! He can take care of your
situation if you ask Him to, nothing is to hard for Him, and there is no
situation, that He can not turn around. He is always working on our behalf,
to turn things around for us. He always works all things together for those
that love Him!
I don’t know what is holding you captive in your life today, but if God is
not first in your life, and if you are not earnestly seeking after HIM, then
you can’t expect to find your new beginning. Today, will you seek him? Will
you search for him with all of your heart? God wants to release us from the
captivity that has hold of us, and help us prosper…but He can only do that
when we look for God before we look for anything else.
May God’s love fill our hearts. May God’s Spirit meet us wherever we today.
May God’s promises inspire our lives. And may we commit ourselves to
trusting God and serving God, today and always. God definitely has plans
for you and I. Shalom.
THE DAILY ENCOURAGER
THE DAILY ENCOURAGER
January 26,
Today’s Scripture
“This is the day the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it!
Psalm 118:24”
REJOICE AND BE GLAD IN TODAY
As you got up from bed this morning, did you position yourself to be joyful?
If you don’t make up your mind by setting the tone early in the day, the devil
will start reminding you of difficulties or challenges that you are facing.
Today is the Lord’s day..
Let the word of God sink in! God made this day, designed every detail of
it. Ordained it and transformed you into it. Everyday is made for us by the
Lord. There is no day worth your sorrows, worries, weeping or grieving.
Today is the day to rejoice and succeed!
We need to accept this day as a gift from God. The psalmist is encouraging
us to see every day as a gift from God to us. Today is not an accident and
it is not incidental. God wants to be in the midst of this day with us. He
wants to help us make it the best day that it can be. He wants each day to be
productive and something that will give us strength and encouragement to
face the challenges of tomorrow.
Today is the day for you to be glad. It is your day to forget all worries and
think of your success. Today is not to be wasted in worrying about your
food, money and tomorrow or yesterday’s issues. Give the day a chance by
changing your negative views about it.
We need to rejoice and be glad for God’s love for us. We need to rejoice in the
privilege of being sons and daughters of God. We need to rejoice and be glad
because we have had the opportunity in our lives to serve the Lord.
Say this to yourself this very moment; “Even though I am not feeling well
in my body, but today is the day to rejoice and receive God’s divine healing
into my body. Even though I am struggling with my finances and haven’t
paid my bills, I will still rejoice and be glad. No matter what is going on in
my life, I will still rejoice and be glad because I have life and once I have life
there is hope for my future.
34

JANUARY
Don’t waste today. Be happy, rejoice in the Lord. Remember the joy of the
Lord is your strength. It doesn’t matter what you are facing, today is your
day to rejoice and be glad.
Declare “Iwill rejoice and be glad, no matter what kind of difficulties I face
today, no matter who tries to make me upset. I choose to be happy.” Never
forget that although you might not be able to choose your circumstances,
you can always choose how you respond to them.
Fill your day with God. Choose to make it great! Shalom!
THE DAILY ENCOURAGER
THE DAILY ENCOURAGER
January 27
Today’s Scripture
“Know therefore that the Lord your God is God; He is the faithful
God, keeping His covenant of love to a thousand generations…”
Deuteronomy 7:9
Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised
is faithful.
Hebrews 10:23
GOD IS FAITHFUL
FAITHFUL TO HIS NAME, FAITHFUL IN HIS PROMISES, FAITHFUL
WHEN WE ARE NOT
FAITHFUL TO FORGIVE, FAITHFUL IN TEMPTATION
FAITHFUL IN SALVATION.
AND
I am sitting here wondering if there is anyone I know out there who is as
faithful as our God is. I seriously cannot think of even one single person
in my entire life. Don’t get me wrong; I know of some honest and reliable
people, but I am talking about FAITHFULNESS in terms of being 100%
right with everything. God’s faithfulness means that everything He says
and does is certain. He is 100% reliable, 100% of the time. He does not fail,
forget, falter, change, or disappoint. He says what He means and means
what He says. Hallelujah.
Reflecting on God’s promises in the Bible, His unfailing love renews and
trusting Him as our only faithful God, strengthens our confidence in His
faithfulness. You can’t not read the Bible and not see the giving of God.
We need to realise that God is our Source, He is our Blesser, He is our only
dependable God and He will be faithful in His promise to us to supply for us
as we too receive our inheritance.
Do we see the faithfulness of God in our lives? or do we mutter and
complain? When we look back over our lives, will we have the insight to see
God’s work and greatness displayed? Great is God’s faithfulness. I want you
to believe this today, that God’s great promises are bound up in His divine
nature. God is the Giver and God is the source of our blessings.
36

JANUARY
Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of
the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. James 1:17
Whichever way you see life today, God is still faithful in His dealings with
you. When you have made a mess of your life, remember God’s faithfulness.
No matter how life is treating you, always remember;
Great is His faithfulness! Great is Hos faithfulness! Morning by morning
new mercies I see. All I have needed His hand hath provided, Great is His
faithfulness, Lord, unto me!
Indeed we serve a FAITHFUL GOD and I’m asking you to trust Him
because He is the the most trustworthy Father in the universe. Amen.
THE DAILY ENCOURAGER
January 28,
Today’s Scripture
“I am the LORD, and I do not change. That is why you descendants
of Jacob are not already destroyed”
Malachi 3:6
HE’LL DO IT AGAIN
Some people treat God like a vending machine. You just keep picking the
thing that you want from God and push that button until the machine is
empty, and then it’s all over. Some people treat God like He is able to handle
little problems but the big problems we had better handle on our own. Some
people treat God like He is a weak and puny God and not able to do very
much at all.
But I want you to know that He is well able to meet your needs right now!
Numbers 23:19 says “God is not a man, so He does not lie. He is not human,
so He does not change His mind. Has He ever spoken and failed to act? Has
He ever promised and not carried it through?”
Be patient with God and with yourself. One of life’s frustrations is that
God’s timetable is rarely the same as ours. We are often in a hurry when
God isn’t. You may feel frustrated with the seemingly slow progress you’re
making in life.
His arm is not short, His ear is not deaf, He is not slack concerning His
promise, His promises are yea and amen, His love is far reaching, His power
has not dried up, His word is still true
When you need Him He will be there and He can do it again! He said in His
word that “I am God and I change not”.
If He did it for someone else He’ll do it for you. If He did it before He will do
it again.
I know at times things can seem dark and the mountains of life can seem
to be so great, but light shines best in darkness and God is so much greater
than that mountain.
Put the weight on God’s shoulders they’re a lot stronger than yours. Doesn’t
He tell you in 1Peter 5:7 to cast your cares on Him because He cares for you.
38

JANUARY
Keep your focus on the word of God and not your situation.
God parted the waters of the Red Sea, for the children of Israel, once and
then He parted the waters of the Jordan River for them again. I want you
to know today that if you are facing a Red Sea situation in your life, where
you can’t go forward, backward, left, right or it seems there is no way out;
God is still able to part the waters of the mighty Red Sea in your life. God is
still able to make a way when there is no way. God is still able to bring light
to darkness.
What I want you to receive into your spirit, soul and body today is this; if
He did it for me, He will do it again for you! The bible says “His compassion
fail not”. The bible says that He will never forget you. You may not know
how and you may not know when but HE’LL DO IT AGAIN! Just keep
your focus on God and His word! Trust Him and make Him your only
dependable God. All others will fail you but God will never fail and He will
never leave you nor forsake you!! Whatever situation it is, HE WILL DO IT
AGAIN! Shalom.
THE DAILY ENCOURAGER
January 29,
Today’s Scripture
but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will
soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will
walk and not be faint.
Isaiah 40:31
IT’S TIME TO RENEW YOUR STRENGTH
Isaiah 40:31 is a verse of scripture that almost all of us have memorized. It
is a verse that we claim, cling to, quote out loud, and if we know the tune,
sing it to ourselves.
The renewing of our strength requires that we wait upon the Lord even in
the midst of great trials. Our faith and trust must be tested to gain strength.
As Christians God wants us to rely on him, whatever we are doing. As we
look to Him, He will give us the strength to continue when we are tempted
to give in. There are times when we want to chuck the towel in, yet when
we look to our Lord, He will RENEW our strength.
God knows how to give you the power to overcome. He will take your
weaknesses, your failures, your doubts and fears, and He will turn them
into miracles of deliverance. In fact, God often does not move until we have
given it over to Him completely because He will not share the glory of your
deliverance with you. It is all of Him or none of Him. God is our source of
strength. God is our source of provision. God is our source of power. God is
our source for everything we need! We can’t do anything within ourselves.
Waiting upon the Lord requires true faith.
Waiting upon the Lord requires going through the fire sometimes and still
trusting God to bring us through.
Waiting upon the Lord requires that we believe in the impossible, look for
the unseen answers, hope in the times of hopelessness and know, without
knowing why or how, that God will take care of us.
Wait upon the Lord. Put your faith and trust in Him and He will let your
spirit soar above this world. He will lift your spirit upon eagle’s wings and
40

JANUARY
you will be strengthened for the journey ahead. Only by patient waiting,
placing your wholehearted faith in Jesus and trusting in Him totally will
you have your strength renewed.
God has it all under control. If you are a Child of the Most High God, then
look up, for your Father sees your need and your answer is already on the
way!
As you take a step of faith waiting on the Lord, be of good courage and He
shall strengthen your heart, establish you, increase you and fortify you. That
is when you will live the life of victory He has prepared for you. Shalom.
THE DAILY ENCOURAGER
THE DAILY ENCOURAGER
January 30
Today’s Scripture
“For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.”
Philippians 4:13
I Can Do All Things
This is one of my favorite Scriptures but out of context, Philippians 4:13 is
used as a blank check promise for whatever is desired. But in context, it
is a verse about contentment. It’s not about your dreams coming true or
your goals being met. Rather it’s about being joyful, satisfied, and steadfast
even when life is hard and your circumstances seem impossible. It reminds
me that although I may have difficulties, through Jesus Christ I have been
empowered with strength for every battle that may try to defeat me.
This is not a verse about being empowered to change your circumstances;
rather, it is a verse about relying on God’s power in order to be content
in the midst of circumstances you can’t change. When the Apostle Paul
says, I can do all things through Him who strengthens me, he is speaking
about contentment. In any circumstance, he had learned to be content
by depending on Christ who gave him the strength to persevere in any
situation.
You can do all things through Christ! The fact that you have failed in
achieving your dreams doesn’t mean it is over for you! You are equipped
to do whatever God has called or commanded you to do! If He has put it in
your heart, He will put whatever you need in your hand, and the Scriptures
promises that everything you set your hand to will prosper when we
depend on Christ’s strength and not when we depend on our own strength.
Depending on Christ’s strength is a very freeing way to live. We can relax
knowing that no matter what comes our way, He will strengthen us with
the right hand of His righteousness towards good works.
What is it that you can do through Christ? You can be content no matter
what the situation. Whether you have plenty or he you have nothing,
whether you come in first place with a gold medal or he you comes in last
place, whether he makes the team or he doesn’t make the team. Whatever
the circumstance, whatever he may have or not have, Paul learned to be
content, to be joyful. Why? Because I can do all things through Christ who
strengthens me!
May you be encouraged not to achieve great victories in life, but to also find
joy even in the midst of defeat.
JANUARY
THE DAILY ENCOURAGER
January 31,
Today’s Scripture
“Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that
we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be
glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and
ever. Amen.”
Ephesians 3:20-21.
OUR GOD IS ABLE!
The God we serve is able - don’t limit Him. As children of God, we can rest
in the assurance that God is more than able to save, keep, deliver, sustain
and to present us faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding
joy.
You see, the three Hebrews boys, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego,
in Daniel 3:17 believed that God is able...and He will! The said; “O
Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to defend ourselves before you in this
matter. If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is
ABLE to save us from it, and He will rescue us from your hand, O king. But
even if He does not, we want you to know, O king, that we will not serve
your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up.” “Our God is going
to deliver us, but if He doesn’t, we’re still committed to serving Him.” What
a great statement! That’s the kind of person I want to be. You know, the fire
in their hearts was stronger than the fire in the furnace. Glory Hallelujah.
They were confidence the God they serve is ABLE. And surely and truly
He is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think.
Daniel was thrown in the lion’s den, King Darius asked if God had the
ability to deliver. Daniel said, God is the deliverer, He has come and shut
the mouth of the lions. Today you may be going through some struggles
and feel that you are surrounded. But God is continually able to deliver you.
When I say continually, that means just like He has come through before,
He will do it again. Whether you are in the lion’s den or in the fire, even if
you are in the middle of a raging sea, He is continually able. No matter what
situation you find yourself in, don’t worry, if He can get you out or pull you
through, because He is continually able to deliver you. When you can’t get
out of anything, He can get you out. No door can block His coming, no wall
can keep Him from getting you through.
43

THE DAILY ENCOURAGER
I want to encourage you and reassure you that Our God is powerful and
able. He displays His power to help His people. We are not alone in this
world when we face difficulties and trials . God’s power is available to work
for us and deliver us . The power of God can even turn the evil that is done
to harm us and turn it into good . We must rely on God’s power to work on
our behalf in every situation that we face in our life.
He’s able, wouldn’t you agree? What a mighty God we serve! The secret of
life is for you and for me to connect ourselves with the God Who is able. And
if we do, we will have success.
My dear beloved, cast your burden on the Lord, and He will sustain you;
He will never allow the righteous to be shaken. And God is able to make
all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all
things, may have an abundance for every good work. Amen!!
