This year the procurement team decided to invite along
James Michael and Meera Patel from the estimating
department to the two Constructionline events. It was a
nice break from discussions about planes, trains and automobiles
which some of the more ‘life experienced’ members of the
procurement team are fascinated by!!!
We are keen to work collaboratively alongside the estimating department to assist their
exposure to new supply chains, which can add value to Farrans with successful tendering
of new projects. This improves our competitiveness in new regions we branch into.
Farrans were requested at short notice to fill a gap with a company supply chain
presentation at the Nottingham Constructionline event, which we were happy to oblige.
Up stepped the newest recruit to the procurement team Aaron Griffiths, and in the words
of Meera Patel, she described the presentation as “The best public speech I have heard since
Martin Luther King Jr’s ‘I have a dream’ speech”....
The Meet the Buyer events continue to be a success story and since reviewing the
companies we have met during 2016, we believe to have identified a further 70 new
companies which could be of considerable benefit in the future in assisting Farrans to
deliver excellence on new and existing projects.
