Deciding where to send your child to school is one of the most important decisions you have to make, especially in the early years. For many years now parents have chosen to send their children to Our Lady’s. We ensure that all our children are nurtured and encouraged to learn and develop both academically and socially in a warm, caring and happy environment and grow into self assured and confident young people. Maintaining high staff to pupil ratios gives every child plenty of attention, the opportunity to speak out in every class and the ability to achieve in all aspects of school life. Many of our children have gone on to win scholarships to senior schools and places at grammar schools, performing outstandingly both academically and on the playing field. Our Lady’s Preparatory School was established in 1962 to provide Catholic education for boys and girls although children of all denominations are warmly welcomed. In 2006, the Day Nursery was added offering full day care for children as young as 3 months. Our Lady’s provides care for children up to 11 years old, from 8am until 6pm, with extended hours available upon arrangement, 51 weeks of the year. Every child is treated as an individual and staff take the time to get to know each child within the school and nursery; their family, their nature, their ability, their strengths, weaknesses and as they mature, their ambitions and desires. O u r L a d y ’ s P r e p a r a t o r y S c h o o l , N u r s e r y & D a y N u r s e r y Day Nursery Our Lady’s Day Nursery welcomes children from 3 months of age on a full or part time basis and operates from 8am until 6pm, 51 weeks of the year. Extended hours available by arrangement. We provide high quality childcare, employing a large percentage of qualified and experienced Nursery Nurses. The Day Nursery is housed within the main school allowing total integration and participation with the school, its activities and facilities. The rooms have been specifically designed to be bright, spacious and stimulating. Our staff are chosen, not only on their experience and qualifications but also on their friendly and caring disposition. The Day Nursery provides a caring, well structured, safe, happy and supportive environment, enabling children to develop to their full potential. Throughout the day our children participate in a variety of activities including craft, story time, messy play, singing and dancing. They also have an enclosed play area and use of the school playing field. We provide an environment that enables children to express their feelings and cope with fears, anxieties and difficult experiences. We endeavour to encourage the development of independence and self confidence. These goals can only be realised with parents’ support and therefore we work closely with you, welcoming you into our Day Nursery at any time. 1
