6. Enabling Strategy - Ensure Responsible Fiscal and Operational Management 6.1 Maintain financial stability through a balanced budget for 2016-2017 6.2 Select and implement a functional and user-friendly Accounting Software Platform ➣➣ With the revision of our Attendance Support Program Policy and the implementation of the Provincial Earned Leave Plan, our sick occurrences have increased approximately 13% since last calendar school year. ➣➣ The Provincial Employee Life and Health Trust (ELHT) and the Earned Leave Plan provincial savings strategies have reduced our Grants for Student Needs (GSN) funding for 2016-2017 by approximately $700,000. ➣➣ Microsoft NAV – Altus Dynamics application has been selected as our vendor of choice. ➣➣ The implementation process is underway with current staff and no additional resources. ➣➣ Go-live date is scheduled for the summer of 2017. ➣➣ If we continue to trend in this manner for the remainder of the calendar school year, it will present financial pressures at year-end. ➣➣ Local negotiations, grievances and arbitrations are also putting a strain on our ability to manage our projected balanced budget for 2016-2017. 7. Enabling Strategy - Address Changing Demographics 7.1 Implement the 2016-2018 phase of the Long-Term Board Accommodations Plan ➣➣ ➣➣ The Saint Michael and Saint Paul Catholic High School Family of Schools Attendance Area Review Committee completed its review, and submitted a recommendation to the January 17, 2017 Committee of the Whole Meeting, in compliance with the timelines established by the Board for this Board Ad Hoc Committee. Staff are preparing the Initial Staff Report for an Accommodation Review to examine the potential consolidation of Monsignor Clancy – St. Charles Catholic Elementary Schools. 11 Niagara Catholic District School Board
