Welcome to London
Get your heart pumping this Valentine’s Day at the UK’s newest viewing
platform, the ArcelorMittal Orbit. Start the experience with a little romance as
you journey 114.5m into the sky to enjoy beautiful winter views of London’s
landmarks including The Shard, St Paul’s Cathedral and the O2, as well as a
bird’s eye view of the famous London 2012 venues of Queen Elizabeth
Olympic Park.
For perfect Half Term fun, the 40 second journey through the twists, turns
and drops of The Slide, is a hair-raising experience that’s not for the fainthearted.
The world’s tallest and longest tunnel slide loops its way around the
ArcelorMittal Orbit 12 times taking visitors through gentle curves, thrilling
drops and a tight corkscrew named ‘the bettfeder’ – bedspring in German.
Or experience the exhilarating descent of the UK’s highest freefall abseil.
Hold your breath as you step over the edge of the iconic red steel structure
before making an 80m adrenaline-fuelled journey to the ground.
