Technical Award (BTEC) in Travel & Tourism<br />
(A vocational qualification equivalent to 1 GCSE)<br />
This is a general course description – the new specification is still subject to change.<br />
Overview:<br />
The Edexcel Level 2 First Award in Travel & Tourism allows students to explore and develop<br />
a wide variety of skills and knowledge essential for working in the Tourism industry. Students<br />
will have the opportunity to visit local travel agents, devise holiday itineraries, gain a greater<br />
knowledge about national and international visitor attractions, types of travel and transport.<br />
If you are thinking about taking this course, please make sure that you speak to<br />
Miss Evans (Deputy Headteacher) before you hand in your form. This course is<br />
being offered for the first time this year and we will need to make sure that it<br />
complements your other option subjects.<br />
Course Content and Assessment:<br />
This qualification uses a Pass, Merit, Distinction and Distinction* grading system.<br />
