On June 22, 1941, fascist Germany treacherously<br />
attacked USSR. In the first four hours it was clear<br />
that Soviet Union was not ready for the war. The<br />

soldiers were taken hostage in large numbers, <strong>and</strong><br />
the whole Soviet combat aviation was destroyed at<br />
the base aerodromes by sudden air strikes. Thus it<br />
is written in all the history textbooks. But in reality<br />

Viewed today, these actions might seem alarming. But in fact, they<br />
created the very conditions that would lead the USSR <strong>and</strong> its allies to<br />
victory four years later.<br />
