Welcome
On behalf of the Alaska School Activities Association (ASAA) Board of Directors
and ASAA’s corporate partners, welcome to the 2017 ASAA/First National
Bank Alaska 4A Hockey State Championships! To the student-athletes, we
applaud your dedication to doing your best for yourself and for your school.
To the coaches, counselors and parents, thank you for continuing to support
interscholastic sports and activities. And to the spectators, we appreciate your
being part of this statewide championship event.
Alaska's passion for hockey has translated to a new level of celebration in
high school hockey. In 2005, a traveling trophy was created by First
National Bank Alaska. Move over Stanley Cup - now there's First
National Cup! Title winners in each classification take home
a huge traveling trophy to showcase their victory at
State. Donated by First National Bank Alaska, the trophies
reside at the schools of the 4A and Greatland tournament
champions for one year, before they are passed on to the
next year’s champions.
To the student-athletes, we applaud your dedication to
doing your best for yourself and your school. Coaches,
administrators and parents, thank you
for supporting interscholastic sports and activities.
And spectators, we appreciate your being part of
these statewide championship events.
