Preface<br />

Let me <strong>in</strong>troduce you to one of the greatest<br />

treasures God has given us <strong>in</strong> the Bible—the Book<br />

of <strong>Revelation</strong>.<br />

You would naturally suppose that the last book<br />

<strong>in</strong> the Bible would be the easiest to understand.<br />

Even the title assures us that God wants us to<br />

understand it—"<strong>The</strong> <strong>Revelation</strong> of Jesus Christ." If<br />

God had <strong>in</strong>tended the book to be hard to<br />

understand, would He not have given it a different<br />

title, such as "<strong>The</strong> Hid<strong>in</strong>g," or '<strong>The</strong> Obscur<strong>in</strong>g of<br />

Jesus Christ"? It is a mistake to suppose that it is<br />

hard to understand, or without mean<strong>in</strong>g. God will<br />

not mislead us!<br />

One Sunday afternoon I was try<strong>in</strong>g to read the<br />

Book of <strong>Revelation</strong> when our pastor called to visit<br />

us. "I can't understand this book," I pleaded. "Can<br />

you expla<strong>in</strong> it to me?<br />

"He put his hand on my head and smiled as he<br />

answered, "Do not try to read that book. It is<br />
