The building of the Culture Centre<br />
originally was designated to a hotel<br />
called Magyar Király (Hungarian King).<br />
The Savings Bank of Csongrád<br />
had it in 1895 built. On the ground floor<br />
of the hotel, there were a café,<br />
a restaurant, and premises,<br />
while on the first floor a big theatre<br />
and ballroom, a casino,<br />
and guestrooms received guests.<br />
During the renovation of 1954-55,<br />
the building got a new function.<br />
It has been working as<br />
a Culture Centre ever since.<br />
Going further along the Fő Street,<br />
we arrive at Hotel Erzsébet.<br />
