H Hardware is Growing!
From early 2017, we will have 26 stores proudly wearing the brand
and we’re hopeful that more stores will come to the bright side soon.
“We’re happy with our choice
and looking forward to having
our offi cial opening day very
soon,” Chris added.
Andrew Graham, Traralgon H
Hardware is a second generation
owner working with his father,
Rob Graham. He said: “We’ve
had a bloke tell us he didn’t know
there was a hardware store here
until he saw the new signs. It was
a bit of a kick to the gut, because
we have been here since ’88!”
The father and son team continue
to deploy some really exciting
promotional ideas. “We’ve got
tradies sharing and posting
pictures from job sites and tagging
us in social media.
To express our thanks, we
send through a freebie like a H
Hardware jumper during
their next visit – the word-ofmouth
defi nitely gets our brand
out there.”
We asked Andrew what was so
attractive about H Hardware. “We
wanted a brand refresh but it was
really important we maintained
control of our ordering, stock and
marketing. We really like the release
of the new H branded products too.”
Yarra Junction H Hardware in progress
It may have taken a few years
for us to gain momentum, but
we are truly on our way now.
Thanks to the assistance of
interest free finance to help with
the cost of transition, we will
have 26 stores by early 2017.
We have completely
redesigned our power tool section,
and in just six weeks, there’s already a
25 per cent lift in the category.
H Hardware stores also enjoy
an additional marketing rebate
from Key Suppliers that they
purchase from.
Chris Moorfoot of Yarra
Junction H Hardware had
this to say: “We’ve had some
shocking Melbourne weather
which has slowed us down.
Notwithstanding this, we focused
a lot on internal layout with the
rebranding process.
Chris stated that before deciding on
H Hardware, he and Anthea spent
a lot of time looking at branding
options. Their old “YJH” logo didn’t
really say ‘hardware’ and they had
been considering a much needed
rejuvenation to their store.
H Hardware was the obvious
choice for the Moorfoots as
the hard work was already
done in designing a brand that
“screamed” hardware -- and they
still get to run their business the
way they wanted.
