Wotan Summer House
After Jacob Hubert Biesenbach, the second owner of Schloss Drachenburg, had completed
building work on the Nordic Summer Houses in the Schloss Drachenburg park, a few of
them were photographed for purposes of postcard manufacture and advertising material.
Thus it is that we still have photodocumentation of block houses that have now disappeared.
“Wotan” formed the south-western closure of the group consisting of nine block houses on
the southern cliffside. Only a few remains of the original natural-stone masonry have survived.
