In addition to the four All-SoCon team members who are returning in 2012, there are 11 others who
have received either All-SoCon or SoCon All-Freshman honors in their careers. Marlon Anthony, Chris
Awuah, Josh Freeman, Marquis Green, Gunner Miller, Nick Pollard, Keyon Reed, Terrell Robinson,
Faysal Shafaat, Davis Tull and Keon Williams were all members of the SoCon All-Freshman team
during their respective first seasons at UTC.
YOUNG SQUAD COMING BACK
With 17 total starters returning, the Mocs have a lot of experience coming back. However, UTC
will still be a young team in 2012. There are only eight seniors on the roster. Of the 62 Mocs that
participated in a game last season, 22 were freshmen and another 17 were sophomores. There are
11 sophomores who are listed as starters on the two-deep.
MOCS SIGN 18-MEMBER RECRUITING CLASS
Chattanooga head football coach Russ Huesman welcomes a signing class that includes 16 freshmen
and two transfers. Huesman grabbed a ton of regional talent to fill Chattanooga’s needs for the future.
Among the 18 are two FBS transfers, a three-star prospect and eight who earned all-state recognition
during their prep careers. Huesman and his staff kept their recruiting focus close to home with the
2012 class with all 18 of the signees hailing from either Georgia or Tennessee.
