that <strong>in</strong>forms all majors and degrees—but it can foster a culture of curiosity and knowledge-seek<strong>in</strong>g.<br />
The act of rais<strong>in</strong>g and research<strong>in</strong>g questions does not just provide us with answers, but opens up new<br />
avenues of <strong>in</strong>quiry and fur<strong>the</strong>r research. Indeed, <strong>the</strong>se are <strong>the</strong> <strong>in</strong>tellectual pr<strong>in</strong>ciples that def<strong>in</strong>e progress,<br />
may it be social or o<strong>the</strong>rwise.<br />
Shaikha Dana Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmed Al-Sabah is founder and chair of <strong>the</strong> Board of Trustees of <strong>the</strong><br />
American University of Kuwait (AUK). She is also <strong>the</strong> chairwoman of United Education Company (UEC),<br />
Kuwait’s lead<strong>in</strong>g company <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> educational sector. She is <strong>the</strong> Executive Manager of Al-Futooh Hold<strong>in</strong>g<br />
Company and a board member of KAMCO Investment Company. Shaikha Dana received her B.A. <strong>in</strong> English<br />
Literature from Kuwait University and also studied at Indiana University Bloom<strong>in</strong>gton.<br />
