Merom Golan<br />

The Merom Golan Resort Village,<br />

located in the Golan Heights on<br />

Kibbutz Marom Golan, started to<br />

expand in 2007 with 12 wooden huts;<br />

28 more were added over the next<br />

two-year period, including one fully<br />

accessible for physically challenged<br />

guests and others for families with up<br />

to three or four children. In addition,<br />

the hotel offers 32 ground-level rooms<br />

that served in the past as homes for<br />

kibbutz members. These, which are<br />

huts, adds General Manager Shefi Mor, were transformed into guest<br />

accommodation units in 2000 and can accommodate a couple plus<br />

two children in a single space. Eight of these rooms come with Jacuzzis<br />

instead of showers.<br />

Merom Golan also features a new swimming pool (heated for winter),<br />

and it inaugurated a new lobby/reception area in a new building about<br />

one year ago, complete with a lobby café/bar and a conference room<br />

seating up to 150 guests. In the area of the property cleared by the<br />

removal of the old office, it is starting to build six additional huts on a<br />

standard similar to those it now offers, with expectations that they will<br />

be ready some time this summer: “Then, we will be able to say that<br />

we have realized the first stage of our master plan and we will be ready<br />

to embark on the next phase. The first thing we plan to do will be to<br />

enlarge Habokrim, our a la carte meat restaurant; later, we will be<br />

turning our attention to additional accommodation options, with<br />

the ultimate goal of reaching about 110-120 huts. A spa is also<br />

part of our plans.”<br />
