OTHER SCHOLARSHIPS<br />
The <strong>University</strong> also administers a variety of scholarship funds provided<br />
by alumni, corporations, and foundations. The conditions under which<br />
these scholarships are granted are the same as with regular <strong>Lincoln</strong> <strong>University</strong><br />
Scholarships.<br />
PENNSYLVANIA SCHOLARSHIPS<br />
The College grants Senatorial Scholarships amounting to $350.00 per<br />
year, applicable toward tuition, to qualified candidates who are legal residents<br />
of Pennsylvania and are nominated by members of the Senate of<br />
Pennsylvania.<br />
<strong>Lincoln</strong> students who are residents of Pennsylvania are eligible to apply<br />
for scholarship grants from the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance<br />
Agency.<br />
These scholarships, awarded on the basis of need and/or scholastic<br />
Aptitude Test scores, range from $200 to $1600 per year. Detailed information<br />
concerning this program is available in most secondary school<br />
guidance offices or from the <strong>University</strong>'s Financial Aid Officer.<br />
FEDERAL EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITY GRANTS<br />
Grants-in-aid from the federal government are available in amounts of<br />
from $200 to $800 under a program financed by the federal government.<br />
These grants must be matched by <strong>University</strong> funds. Students are considered<br />
for these grants automatically when application is made for a <strong>University</strong><br />
Scholarship and no seperate application need be submitted.<br />
Recipients of these awards are required to maintain a satisfactory standard<br />
of conduct and scholarship.<br />
NATIONAL DEFENSE STUDENT LOANS<br />
From a fund, including 10% of institutional and 90% of federal<br />
financing, loans are made to needy students. A student may borrow up to<br />
$1,000 a year if he qualifies academically and in terms of need. Preference<br />
is given to those who plan to teach in public schools as well as to<br />
those in the field of natural science, mathematics, and modern foreign<br />
language.<br />
GUARANTEED LOANS<br />
Under a system of guarantees established by the Federal Government<br />
and various state governments, students may borrow up to $1,000 per year<br />
from participating loan agencies to be repaid after the student ceases or<br />
completes his course of study. Details concerning these programs are<br />
available through secondary school guidance officers or the <strong>University</strong>'s<br />
Financial Aid Officer.<br />
