Robert J.H. Kiphuth Award Established in 1968 in memory of Robert J.H. Kiphuth, swimming coach at Yale University and a leader in competitive swimming for many years, this award is given to the high point scorer (male and female) at both ConocoPhillips National Championships. The legendary Tracy Caulkins won the award an astonishing record 12 times in six years. Janet Evans is second behind Caulkins with eight Kiphuth Award honors. Susie Atwood has won the honor six times, followed by Shirley Babashoff with five. Chad Carvin won his fourth award in 1999.
