second degree there may be hypertrophy
of the anal skin verge sometimes a skin
tag, third degree piles are visible as muco-
cutaneous bulge.
�Diagnosis; A careful history,particularly of
bowel habits is helpful but all patients with
piles should have at least a rigid
sigmoidoscopy.
