D-LUX LED DOWNLIGHTS Building Regulations DESIGNED AND APPROVED TO MEET BUILDING REGULATIONS Part L1A Low Energy Lighting Part E Part B Fire Part L1 Part C Air Leakage Part L1 Part E Acoustics Part P Robust Details Assessed Air-Tightness Continuity of Insulation Safe Electrical Installations Separating Floors and Intermediate Floors - Fire All downlighters installed in new build dwellings must be Fire Rated - use downlighters with inbuilt protection or conventional downlighters with appropriately tested cover. All downlighters must have had individual 30 minute, 60 minute or 90 minute fire tests. Separating Floors - Acoustic If using a Robust Details Structure, the downlighter must have been tested successfully assessed to Appendix F, Timber Separating Floors. Downlighters in Ceilings to Roof Spaces D-Lux LED Downlights come complete with ISS (Insulation Support Straps) to create a void above the fitting to maintain the continuity of insulation. BS 5250 2002 states that the total leakage through all downlighters should not exceed 0.006m³/hour per m² of ceiling area at a pressure of 2Pa. Part L1A 37. A reasonable limit for the <strong>design</strong> air permeability of the building envelope is 10m³/hour per m² at 50Pa. See D-Lux Specifications. Part L1A 2013 Fixed Internal Lighting A In the areas affected by the building work, provide low energy light fittings (fixed lights or lighting units) that number not less than three per four of all the light fittings in the main dwelling spaces of those areas (excluding infrequently accessed spaces used for storage, such as cupoards and wardrobes).
