IDINA MENZEL ANNOUNCES UK LEG
OF HER 2017 WORLD TOUR
After releasing her fifth solo studio
album idina. last autumn, Tony Awardwinning
superstar Idina Menzel will
return to the UK as part of her 50+ city
global spring and summer tour.
Called ‘the Streisand of her
generation’ by The Denver Post, Idina
has captivated audiences at sold-out
concerts around the world with her
irresistible charm, wit and unparalleled
vocal prowess. Throughout the tour,
Idina will lead audiences through a
special journey of songs from idina., as
well as other classic pop, musical
theatre favourites and her own personal
catalogue.
Tony Award-winning icon Idina
Menzel has a diverse career that
traverses stage, film, television and
music. Idina's voice can be heard as
Elsa in Disney’s global box office smash
Frozen, in which she sings the film’s
Oscar-winning song ‘Let It Go,’ and in
the follow up short, Frozen Fever.
After Idina’s performance of the multiplatinum
song at the 86th annual
Academy Awards, she made history as
the first person with both a Billboard Top
10 hit and a Tony Award for acting. She
capped 2016 with the release of her fifth
original solo studio album idina., and
filmed Lifetime’s remake of Beaches, in
which she portrays the role of ‘CC,’
made famous by Bette Midler. Idina
earned her first Tony nomination as
Maureen in the Pulitzer Prize Winner
Rent, and won the award for her
performance as Elphaba in Wicked.
Idina also performed the National
Anthem at Super Bowl XLIX in February
2015, which was the most-watched
television program in U.S. history. For

PARKHOUSE AWARD 2017
COMPETITION FINALS CONCERT
Visitors to London should head to
Wigmore Hall on Saturday 8 April at
13.00 to hear four ensembles of piano
with strings compete for the 2017
Parkhouse Award. They will have been
selected following two days of intensive
auditions from an international entry to
this unique chamber music competition
which has been discovering exceptional
young groups since 1991.
Each group performs for 30 minutes
and the choice of repertoire is theirs so
there will be a feast of chamber music to
hear. The distinguished jury can choose
only one winner who will be announced
shortly after the fourth ensemble has
performed. Do go along for an exciting
afternoon of music-making. It’s all over
by 16.00 so there is still plenty of time
to enjoy London.
The Wigmore Hall Restaurant is open
for dinner every day throughout the
week. The food is firmly based around
seasonality and provenance, whether it
be new season venison, fresh broad
beans and beetroot or the first of the
summer strawberries.
