Avertissement In this proposition we use « refugee » as the generic term to describe the people fleeing to Greece, whether or not they had completed the legal process of claiming asylum. The vast majority of people arriving in Greece are fleeing countries in war and therefore are « internationally recognized as "refugees" with access to assistance from States, UNHCR, and other organizations ». However, a smaller proportion is from elsewhere and for many of these individuals, the term 'migrant' would be more appropriate.
