every member to really get the most out of her
membership and truly make the WI what she wants
it to be. With such a huge aim, this project is a large
undertaking and whilst it was announced at the
NFWI Annual Meeting in June, the official launch is
still under wraps; it is more
important for all aspects of
this project to be what WI
members want and need,
rather than rushed out with
errors and mistakes. Keep
an eye on social media and
in WI Life: as soon as there is
news, WI members will of
course be the first to know.
THE WI TRANSFORMS
As society develops and changes, the WI continues
to reflect the communities that it represents, and as
such, the organisation shifts and transforms with
WITH OUR
MEMBERS
our members. After the unprecedented success of
the centenary celebrations, the focus now shifts
onto each of the 69 federations as they plan their
own centenary celebrations – kicking off in 2017 to
mark the very first federations and going forward
for many years – the party
absolutely isn’t over just yet!
As all of these parties are planned,
and the events are outlined, each
member can be proud of what the
organisation has achieved and be
inspired by how much there is to be
done. Every WI member has the
chance to do whatever she wants
and be whoever she’d like to be through the WI; it’s
up to all of us to take advantage of the opportunities
presented to us and ensure that the WI is still going
strong for the next 101 years!
