for my needs.”
ALEXANDER MASON HANKIN
Alexander likes fashion, but does not like to shop. As a loyal customer
of many years, he has been able to create an efficient and rewarding
shopping experience at Boyds, where his father introduced him
to Patrick Gigliotti (Boyds Sales Associate for 33 years). When
Alexander was in high school, Patrick helped him find his first suit—
made by Dolce & Gabbana and he still has it!
SOPHIE ESCOLL
A family member introduced Sophie to Boyds a little over a year
ago, when she moved from Boston to Philadelphia. No stranger
to the city, Sophie is the granddaughter of the late Ed Snider
(one of Philadelphia’s most esteemed and respected business
and community leaders) and is already a part of the fabric of her
new hometown.
Patrick offers clothing options to fit Alexander’s unique style, which
shifts between more traditional designer suits made by ISAIA and
Kiton with his everyday “biker” look, sporting black leather jackets
and boots fashioned by Belstaff and John Varvatos. “Boyds has such
a large assortment,” says Alexander, “and Patrick is always able to
filter it for my needs.” Sometimes they’ll ask Alex Gushner (a 4th
Generation Boyds family member) to weigh in on a special item or
for an additional fashion perspective.
Sophie was struck by the wide assortment of Italian designer
fashion at Boyds; some brands she knew, while others were new to
her. She was introduced to Marina Yoshpa (Boyds Sales Associate for
13 years), who, as Sophie describes, “is able to work with me to
connect the dots between my style and the large selection in
the store.” She was drawn in by the “unique and fine materials—and
quality,” which are the hallmarks of the women’s designer floor.
She best describes her style as “classic with an edgy twist” and
A Bucks County native, Alexander works at Hankin Management
Company, as part of the 3rd generation of the family’s real estate
development company. He serves on the Young Board of the
Philadelphia Museum of Art, President of JNFuture, the Board of
Directors of Opera Philly, the Guggenheim Acquisitions Committee,
the Serpentine Gallery of London, and is also involved with the
Barnes Foundation, and The Whitney Museum.
shops at Boyds from basics to high-end, looking to Marina to
help find the right look and fit—from jeans for everyday to gowns
for galas.
We welcome Sophie to Philadelphia with open arms and look
forward to watching her become a positive force in our
community.
