salmon highways. Sculpted<br />
by ice, battered by waves<br />
and drenched in rainfall,<br />
the Olympic Peninsula<br />
is a biological gem and<br />
geological masterwork.<br />
Fishermen come from<br />
around the world for a<br />
chance to tussle with these<br />
ocean-fueled vagabonds.<br />
These fish represent the<br />
survivors of intensive<br />
logging, industrial scale<br />
commercial, and sport<br />
fishing. The most iconic of<br />
them all is the steelhead,<br />
known for reel busting<br />
runs and notorious for their<br />
nomadic movements, the<br />
few remaining wild fish<br />
need to be treated with the<br />
