• The scope <strong>of</strong> the project including the anticipated schedule and budget; <br />
• The scope <strong>of</strong> specialty services to be provided under the agreement; <br />
• The responsibilities and obligations <strong>of</strong> both prime consultant and client; <br />
• The pr<strong>of</strong>essional liability terms and obligations; <br />
• The fee for the specialty services and <br />
• The potential scope and compensation approach for additional services (not part <strong>of</strong> the <br />
specialty services anticipated). <br />

2.5 PROFESSIONAL REVIEW OF CONSTRUCTION <br />
The Safety Codes Act <strong>of</strong> <strong>Alberta</strong> and its regulation the <strong>Alberta</strong> Building Code requires that the prime <br />
consultant (in a coordinating pr<strong>of</strong>essional role) along with sub consultants (or other suitably qualified <br />
persons) perform reviews to determine general conformance with construction documents. <br />
<br />
All member firms should have pr<strong>of</strong>essional knowledge <strong>of</strong> their legal obligations under the Safety Codes <br />
Act and its regulation the <strong>Alberta</strong> Building Code. The level <strong>of</strong> pr<strong>of</strong>essional involvement found in the <br />
current <strong>Alberta</strong> Building Code is considered the minimum required as basic services. <br />
