KILLER CONFIDENCE - AUGUSTE CRENSHAW
Auguste Crenshaw is a Personal
Development Coach. She holds
a Bachelor’s Degree in Business
Administration from Lindenwood
University in St. Charles, MO.
Her primary focus is on mindset,
discipline and confidence. She helps
entrepreneurs deal with the day-today
distractions that blocks them
from running a thriving, profitable
business.
Her belief is we were all Created to
be extraordinary, her mission in life
is to help others repair their hearts
and minds through practical lessons
that have a tremendous spiritual
impact. Reframing an individual’s
mindset is her specialty.
Killer Confidence
All successful people have one thing in common. They have a
powerful mindset. Yes, we hear this all the time. It isn’t a perfect
website, commercials, sales scripts or any other perk. It is something
embedded in their mind. The all have killer confidence. Think about it,
all of your favorite singers and actresses have the OMG TV premiere.
You didn’t even know it was them till one day you were watching a
independent film. You had to rewind as you said out loud, “Was that
Keri Washington from Scandal”?
Yes, it was her, broke and barely making it but giving it her best to act
out her part. Are you acting out your part? For clarity, not acting as in
faking, Acting as in doing. Yes, with your bad lighting and umms and
ahs in the video. Yes, with your ugly website or maybe you don’t have
one at all, but you know you change liveS.
Woman can you hear me already. It is you? You are the special
something your tribe has been waiting for. You can’t see it because of
one primary hurdle you need to jump. I am going to help you reflect
and identify your reality so you can make the necessary changes to
take you from nothing to something.
Today I would like to talk to you about CONFIDENCE. We know
what this is right? When we see a Motivational speaker, we say,
“Man I wish I were that confident!” Or perhaps we observe the lady
grooving on the dance floor and think, “I wish I had the nerve.” Some
of us get there after a drink or two :-)!
However, in different elements, the same people may not be as
confident! Comparison is the primary indicator confidence has been
shot. To deflect your imperfections, you point out those in others.
Come on you have done it.
DID WHAT?
• Frowned at someones post because it had a typo
• Looked at someone’s website and talked about how hideous it
is
• Scrutinized another woman’s hair or wardrobe
I am not going to do a long drawn out list. You get it. But what you don’t get is:
Maybe a Virtual Assistant isn’t in her budget, but she literally writes all of her own stuff and gets only four
hours of sleep per night.
Her website oh well, plenty of people work with her, and none of them came from her site in the first place.
Maybe she has to rotate her best items because it is all she has, she spent her last dime on a kick—ass coach,
but just you wait. In three more months, you will be screaming this shit doesn’t
work and you will barely recognize her because she can afford
anything she wants.
All this leads me to one point. We need to have a candid
conversation about confidence. Do you know people
express three types of confidence? Of the three, only
one is pure. Today I want to encourage you to identify
your level of confidence and see where you have an
opportunity to grow. The three types of confidence are:
1. Raw/pure
2. Learned
3. False
#1 Raw/pure Confidence
This type is typically displayed by the wild at heart “kids.” The
younger they are, the purer it is. It sounds like this Mommy, outside,
outside, outside! Children ask for what they want and repeatedly if necessary to get what they want. This
level of confidence does not take rejection into account. It only operates out of sheer expectation. These
characteristics are found in the upper tiers of management and successful entrepreneurs. They are the kind that
took several dozens no’s just to get 1 yes!
#2 Learned Confidence
Learned confidence isn’t confidence at all. When we are habituated to a specific task, it comes more naturally.
When you observe someone life myself speaking, you see and hear a woman who appears to be confident.
However, talking to people is what I do all day. It is a natural gift that takes minimal effort. It takes raw
confidence to approach complete strangers and solicit them for business.
What is your gift? Can you honestly say you exercise confidence? Or, are you doing something that is so routine
it barely takes any effort? What could you do to expand that gift and challenge yourself? We all have ability
