Rapid Transit Program<br />
The San Francisco County Transportation Authority Board- comprised of members of the<br />
San Francisco Board of Supervisors- unanimously approved the <strong>Geary</strong> Bus Rapid Transit<br />
Project design and the Final Environmental Impact Report at their meeting on January 5,<br />
2017.<br />
The project features dedicated transit lanes, utility upgrades and other streetscape<br />
improvements that would result in:<br />
• More efficient and reliable transit. The project would make bus service 20-24 percent<br />
quicker along the corridor.<br />

• A more vibrant corridor for the community with new lighting and more landscaping<br />
and trees.<br />
• A smoother roadway with newly paved streets.<br />
• More reliable utilities with new water and sewer infrastructure.
