Welcome to Jeffco Induction for Teachers &
Special Service Providers
Whether you are brand new to education, or coming to us with years of valuable experience,
we hope that Jeffco Induction will help your transition.
As an employee new to Jeffco, you must register for induction, even if you have completed an
induction program in another district.
If you have a professional license already, you will receive clock hours that can be used for
license renewal. Beyond your required courses, you are welcome to take any course that is
offered.
If you have an initial license, the State of Colorado requires your participation in an induction
program in order to receive your professional license. You have two years to complete all of
your requirements.
We know that everyone is different. Some are ready to jump-in and learn as much as they can,
which is why we offer so many opportunities at Kick-Off. Others prefer their learning broken
into smaller chunks over a longer period of time. Our courses are designed to help you be
successful in your new job, but you can choose the best timing for you.
Additionally, please know that we will have plenty of people on-hand during Kick-Off to
personally answer your questions. For example, the HR Open Lab will have HR technicians
available throughout the entire conference to answer questions, process information, and
guide you toward the multiple resources and benefits that the district has to offer.
You must create a SignUp Genius account using your Jeffco email in order to register
for Induction Kick-Off/Launch, Learn, Lead. Do not sign up for Jeffco learning using
your personal email login or Facebook page!
Our district is committed to providing you with quality learning experiences, resources, and
support. We know that change can often be overwhelming, so please let us know if there
is anything we can do to help you feel welcomed and prepared as you embark on this new
journey!
This required session is offered in the summer and at Induction Kick-Off. Equity in education
is about raising the achievement and success of each student. It’s about making sure every
student has access to the opportunities and experiences that will help them achieve positive
outcomes. Student experiences are impacted by biases and inequities. Learn how to recognize
when these situations exist and tools to improve student outcomes. This session will give
participants a foundational understanding of equity in education while also acknowledging
that barriers and doorways to positive outcomes exist in our classrooms and schools. We will
explore ways to confront barriers and open doorways to increase student achievement and
success.
