consultation to be informative in highlighting
your child’s successes this year and identifying
areas that we can develop together. The
strength of the home-school partnership is
important to your child’s success.
Thank you to all the P7 parents who attended
their transfer meetings. All the forms have now
been submitted to the EA to be processed.
Alice in Wonderland
World Book Day
3 March 2017
For World Book Day this year we are
doing a number of things to celebrate; our
Foundation Stage pupils (P1 and P2) are
having a dress up day, coming to school
dressed as their favourite book character,
while our Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2
pupils will be taking part in classroom
activities, all of which will showcase our
love and enjoyment of reading. For more
information and daily updates, keep an eye
out for Seesaw updates.
In a few weeks’ time, our P7s will take to the
stage for three spectacular performances of
Alice in Wonderland. After the release of
tickets to the P7s, remaining tickets will be
available for purchase from Thursday 16
March. This year we have performances on
Tuesday 21 March at 7.30pm, a matinee on
Wednesday 22 March at 3.30pm and our
finale on Thursday 23 March at 7.30pm.
Tickets can be purchased from 16 March at the
school office for £5.
Please note that seating is allocated on
purchase of your tickets.

Peace Proms
Congratulations to the 50 members of our P6/P7
choir who represented Rathmore last Sunday as
part of the 2017 Peace Proms at the SSE Arena.
We are so proud of your vocals, moves, behaviour
and enthusiasm throughout both the preparations
and performance.
A big thank you to the staff who made this
opportunity possible and to all of our families and
friends who supported the event.
Safe School Policy
• To keep our school safe, the internal doors will
be locked at all times. All adults, including
parents, are unable to gain access unless they
are an identified visitor.
• Our staff will be happy to receive your queries,
pupils (arriving late to school or after
appointments) and personal items at the hatch.
• When collecting pupils during the school day,
you can wait comfortably in our reception
area while our staff collect and accompany
your child to meet you.
• Wet Days - Children should be left to their
external classroom doors as usual.
• Late Arrivals - After the 9am bell sounds, our
gates are locked and the only access children
have for entering school is through the front
door. Please make sure that you see your child
to the foyer, especially if they are younger.
Crossing Patrol
During Mr Armstrong’s absence, Mr Spence will fill
the role of crossing patrol. Please assist both Mr
Spence and Mr English by remaining vigilant and
holding your child’s hand while crossing our busy
roads.
Red Nose Day
We will be having a ‘Red Accessory’ day on Friday
24 March for Comic Relief’s Red Nose Day. Please
bring £1 (or more) to support this worthwhile
cause.
Group Photographs
Photographs will be taken of Nursery, P1, P3, P7,
our Sports’ teams, Councils, Orchestra and Choir.
Please ensure that your child comes to school
ready for their photograph on Thursday 16 March.
PTA Events
X Factor Prize Draw Don’t forget to send your
entry slips to school for the chance to win 4
tickets to the X Factor Live Tour.
Our Book Fair for this year will run from Tues
28 February - Friday 3 March, coinciding with
World Book Day. You may browse and buy
books each afternoon in the foyer from 1.45-
3.15pm.
Bags to School Collection is Tues 14 March
Brown Money Week this year is 24 - 28 April.
Take some time over Easter to rummage
around the sofa cushions for some coins.
Priory Cup Football Tournament
On Friday our Girls’ and Boys’ Football teams
represented the school at the 2017 Priory Cup
tournament at Eddie Irvine’s. Both Teams played
really well, and we are so proud of their
performances. Congratulations!
School Dinners
Thank you for using our online payment system.
We encourage parents to log on and pay/book
school dinners through our school money
system. As we edge further to becoming a
completely cashless school, this facility will
become the only way of enabling you child to
have a school meal. Please contact the office if
you need a reminder of your password.
