July 1st at City Hall and Churchill Square<br />

Stratton Pipe Band, O’Canada/Asani in English,<br />
French, Cree, KoRock Drumming & Jeon’s<br />
Taekwondo, Aytahn Ross, Wajjo African Drumming<br />
& Matterin School of Irish Dance, Donovan Shirt,<br />
Magician Brent Cairns, Zephyr Dance and more.<br />

River Valley Fireworks: 11 pm<br />
When the festivities wrap up at 10 pm, head<br />
south to the River Valley to catch fireworks<br />
choreographed with the High Level Bridge Light<br />
Show. Prime viewing is from the Legislature -<br />
take the LRT from Churchill to Grandin for an<br />
unobstructed view.<br />

Outdoor Street Stage 12 noon – 9:<strong>30</strong> pm<br />
Featuring The Gateway Big Band, Miss Rae and<br />
the Midnight Ramblers, Funkafeelya, Kelly Alanna,<br />
Heather Blush and the Uppercuts, Nuela Charles, and<br />
closing with musical innovator, slide guitarist, and<br />
unparalleled singer, Ellen MacIlwaine<br />
Art activities free for the whole family:<br />
Sun print workshops, poetry workshops, slide making,<br />
portrait projects, and mural painting, and graffiti<br />
workshops and fibre art!<br />
Roaming artists-in-residence:<br />
Watch for our troupes of artists, poets, musicians, and<br />
others capturing the spirit of the day’s celebrations.<br />

Historical Re-enactments<br />
"First meeting" between Indigenous peoples and first<br />
voyageurs/explorers in the Edmonton River Valley<br />
based on oral histories with Indigenous elders and<br />
historians. Enactments at 2:00 and 3:15 pm<br />
Art Performances:<br />
See something strange and new! Performances by<br />
Stacey Cann, Kasie Campbell, Riley Skworoda, Alysse<br />
Bowd, and Grant MacEwan Fine Arts students.
