CELEBRATES 46th BIRTHDAY
Hard Rock Cafe London is ready to
celebrate like it’s 1971! On June 14, 1971,
two-music loving Americans, Isaac Tigrett
and Peter Morton opened the first-ever
Hard Rock Cafe in London and an iconic
brand was born.
After Eric Clapton asked to hang his
guitar in that location, Tigrett and Morton
had a vision to combine music,
memorabilia and food for a one-of-a-kind
guest experience. To honor the brand’s
founders and celebrate its birthday on
June 14, Hard Rock Cafe London will offer
The Original 1971 menu from 11.00-17.00.
‘At 46 years old, Hard Rock Cafe
locations across the country will help
celebrate the brand’s birthday in true rockstar
fashion,’ said Alex Merchan, Senior
Director of Marketing for Hard Rock
International.
Guests can party with Hard Rock Cafe
London as they celebrate our birthday in
classic Hard Rock style. The famous
restaurant will turn back the clock for one
day only, with the original 1971 menu on
sale complete with the 1971 price tags.
The classic Club Sandwich will be just
60p, the decadent barbecue Roadhouse
Ribs will be 80p and the mouth-watering
American Home Made Style Country Ice
Cream only 25p. As well as the infamous
Cola Float at just 25p. There will also be
an awesome line up of some of London's
buskers performing on the terrace
throughout the day!’
COUNTDOWN TO ZOO NIGHTS
AT ZSL LONDON ZOO
ZSL London Zoo’s giraffe trio have
been celebrating ahead of the Zoo’s very
first Zoo Nights with their own street-food
style feast.
The world’s tallest vegetarians were
given treats ahead of the launch of the
new evening event, which promises to be
a unique way for grown-ups to celebrate
summer in the city this year. With a huge
street-food festival at the heart of the Zoo
Nights event, featuring a huge variety of
cuisines from around the world,
zookeepers wanted to give the animals a
taste of the action.
Keepers prepared custom-made giant
bamboo skewers with sweet potato,
cabbage and parsnip for all-girl giraffe
group Ellish, Margaret and Molly to enjoy.
Zookeeper Nick Garrett said: ‘Our
visitors can look forward to a variety of
delicious fresh food at the Zoo Nights
event, just like the animals here at ZSL
London Zoo do every day.
‘To celebrate the launch we’ve
presented the giraffes with giant vegetable
skewers: they had to use their dextrous,
elongated tongues to pull the tasty treats
off the bamboo, just like they have to tug
vegetation off the tops of trees to eat.’
Taking its inspiration from the natural
world, Zoo Nights will celebrate
bioluminescence – nature’s very own
lightshow. And, as night falls over the city,
stunning neon effects will transform the
Zoo, creating an amazing backdrop for a
trip to the Zoo like no other.
Zoo Nights is just for adults, so you’re
free to explore the wildlife after hours,
taking in fun tours and talks with grownup
themes: mating, death and the
gruesome bits – it’s zoology, certificate
18! Along the way you’ll meet street
entertainers and stilt walkers and hear
from ZSL's experts how Zoo Nights helps
them to be a leading light in crucial
conservation work worldwide.
